Our biggest mistake was not signing him when he left Standard Liege...thats the type of signing that we thrive on. We need to sign the player before their price goes through roof.

so using your logic - let's forget about Michy as price has gone through the roof and let's pay the 13mill for Janssen.

totally agree ;)

1) Everton have new owner, new manager and a new outlook. He may choose to stay put for another season
2) There was talk of a £50-60 million transfer fee. If they can get Batshuayi for half that, it's what they will try to do.

As for Batshuayi joining Chelsea - it would certainly counter the thinking that he would only join a CL team.
Mind you, there's a difference between:
a) Palace with no CL and decent wage
b) Us with CL but probably not the best wage
c) The mighty Russian Ruble.

Am waiting for option d) Shanghai FC or similar
£48m for Hulk. I want some of what they're on.

Only Chel$ki would spend 40mil on an unproven kid who will spend more time on the bench than on the pitch.

More money than brains.

Matt Spiro, reliable journo in France is reporting that MB will do his CFC medical in Bordeaux today. Deal is as good as done it seems.

Anyway, he's the featured player for Belgium's press conference this evening at 60pm, would pretty much guarantee that will be questions about his Club future. Probably won't talk to openly given that he is with his Int'l team, but could be interesting.

I can't believe how brain washed you all are, why would you be happy we are saving money for lesser quality!? like honestly you get NO profit from the club yet you can sit here and be proud that we didn't 'overpay' for a totally better footballer. Did you not witness our end of season collapse last season!?

knowing our luck he will have the same effect on chelsea as drogba did! be there main striker for next 5/6 years! you can see it now! 17/18 season - champs league final! batshuayi steps up for the winning penalty and in turn deny spurs the 4th champions league spot! #spursy

It was fun while it lasted. He wouldn't have worked out at WHL anyway. He was too much of a good fit for Pochettino already. Pochettino prefers players he must mould and break and force into his system.

Or some shit like that.

He will probably be out on loan with the other 27 within 12 months...no change there.

Moreover, all they seem to be doing is working their way through striker after striker, each with a short shelf life. I would be more upset if they pipped us to a quality centre back, which is what they really need.

I don't get this Harry Kane has to be the number one striker is it in his contract? It's not about Harry Kane it's about tottenham hotspur... If a new striker comes in and and performs better then that's who should play. Kane has lots of improving to do and in recent months has sometimes played for himself rather than the team. Competition is what's needed to take him to the next level not some guy who comes in to play 2nd fiddle....
Its so obvious that some "fans" do not want theirfavourite players' starting position threatened so they would rather we sign players with less abilities. They come up with various excuses but their intention is just too obvious.

Should have signed him before he went to Marseille.

Oh well, we'll sign a striker one day. Maybe not soon, but in my lifetime hopefully...

I would rather Chelsea get Bats then Morata and we were never going to spend the required money on Bats so no real point on getting to upset about it. Yes I would have liked to see him at Spurs but we never come out trumps when there is a complicated deal.
