Most of those played in a partnership which is very different in terms of workload. I for one don't want Kane run into the ground and looking at our transfer rumours it would appear Poch doesn't either.Strikers thrive on being run into the ground, like no other position on the pitch, strikers don't fatigue like other positions because they get that constant endorphin/adrenalin fix of scoring - it's a powerful drug. When was Henry, RVN, Shearer, Ibra, Shevchenko, Tevez, Benzima, (to name a few high profile examples of a multitude of the species) etc etc ever rested for anything other than meaningless domestic cup games ?
No team has 2 players of similar quality for every position, not even close, not Real, not Bayern and clearly none of the EPL big boys - that's a complete fallacy. Wimmer is not in Vertinghen's class, he was an adequate cover.
No team may have 2 players for each position but they strive for it. At the bigger teams they get distracted by the Galactico effect, Poch is cleverer than that.
