Haven't heard the interview but it sounds like Sherwood was absolutely spot on and the message needs to be drummed in to the club from top to bottom.

Unfortunately, this should really be done behind the scenes and not on live TV. An experienced manager would have raged at the ref and closed ranks.

More than justified at the moment.

In the eyes of those that whinge. I'm pretty gutted but i'm not going to be a fucktard about it. I'd rather support a club where supporting the club was enjoyable, through thick and thin, rather than when only winning and my opinion matters.

This site is just a venting machine, and its a reflection of how the club is supported. Which is a massive shame.

Sick of this Vertonghen bullshit from some of you. "He's off in the summer and I don't blame him; his heart's not in it, and who can blame him".

Surely this is a MASSIVE reason why we're struggling; too many players with that attitude, sulking. Yet, when it's time for the recriminations after a beating, it's all Lennon and Dawson's fault. Jan played shit 'cause he's sulking that he's surrounded by shit. No blame can be attributed to Super (last season) Jan. IT'S HIS FUCKIN' FAULT!!!

Grow up!

Can't even lick Ledleys left nut.

One of the best interview I've seen from a manage !
Told it exactly like it is.

It was naive and stupid. Say it to them behind closed doors if needed. Don't do it in the heat of the moment and on TV particularly when your own decisions could be easily called into question.

He could have come away from this with fans blaming the players. Through lack of thinking he's instead put another nail in his Spurs coffin.

School boy error. He should be making these mistakes in the championship/div 1.

The first goal was unfortunate. Vertonghen's slip can't be helped and he did the only thing that he could to avoid letting Oscar (?) have the ball.

The second was an absolute disgrace. I don't think Kaboul touched Etoo, who - not for the first time - flung himself to the floor. There may have been contact, but even if there was it was incidental and wasn't a foul. To give a penalty for that is a poor decision; to send Kaboul off is disgraceful.

The last two goals were almost inevitable. Yes they were the result of comic defending, but the players were all tired and beaten. They were unfortunate but ultimately irrelevant.

We might have lost the game anyway. Chelsea were better at the start of the second half and coming from behind would have been very difficult. That second goal and the sending off killed us and, as I said, it was an absolute disgrace. The ref is either a lot better off financially or should be - at the very least - embarrassed by it. He should issue a public apology, which is about as likely as us winning the league.

The only thing he could have done was to knock the ball across our 18 yard box without looking? You're right, completely blameless...

This is not the time for reason, hope or a promise of a better tomorrow. This is where you go old-school and mention the importance of loyalty and standing by the badge no matter what the score.

Better to support a team when it's down, than be one of those plastic w***ers at his school who support Manchester City without even knowing where Manchester is.

I was 8 when we got relegated and I asked my Dad whether I should support another team. Shall we just say he didn't take it well and I'm still supporting the team nearly 40 years later. It's time for tough love.

Good luck.
thanks mate, i made him read your post and hes gonna hang in there (god knows why lol)

Tim looked as if he was about to break down into tears. You can see the passion and love he has for the club. If he was out on the pitch he'd give 110%. We just need players that would do the same. Up until now I thought we had players who did that. I think we only have one or two that would. Say what you want about Dawson, but you know he'd throw his body on the line for us every single time.

Just starting to wonder if these injuries are actually injuries? Are there players who don't want to fight for this club?

That was an impressive interview. I don't blame him for today. I hope and expect him to give some of them an absolute complete bollocking for giving up like that.

classic kaz hirai -- hits me with a negative spam rating for being optimistic in that Spurs are 5th and not out of the race for 4th...

speaks volumes about his alleged "support" for Spurs,... :watching:

Fair play to Sherwood for his honesty. About time someone at the club came out with that kind of honesty!
He still won't get job cos of rubbish in first 11 let alone squad - it's littered with pure shit - people opening your fucking eyes - commendable been nice to team and players but seriously - those boys will be out later having drinks shagging glamour models and mistresses and counting their money somewhere and cud not a give a flying fuck what happened against Chelsea - u won't hear a peep out of them for next week and then another battering off arsenal -- it's so predictable

He said he'd already spoke to the players before the interview. Tim has probably gained more respect after a defeat than most managers.

Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood speaking to Sky Sports: "You can't legislate for the capitulation - you can't have that. Lack of characters, too many of them too nice to each other and you need to show a bit more guts and not want to be someone's mate all the time. They need to drag it out of each other.

"It hurts me and I won't forget about this when we hit the motorway, but some might.

"It's not a penalty and not a sending off but the game was finished after that. We've got the Europa League on Thursday and we owe the fans a performance. We let them down again on the big occasion. You won't finish in the top four if you don't beat top teams. You're miles away unless you beat the top teams.

"There have been too many blips. The club talks about fourth, wake up."
Whatever happens next season manager wise wether LVG comes in and Tim goes one thing I do know is that this team and the club need to take a good f...ing look at themselves because it is the fans who would give anything to wear that shirt and get paid silly money week in week out and would actually give a donkeys about this club. I'm royally pissed off now that we never give a crap when we play big team and in my opinion if a player doesn't wanna be here regardless of name or reputation then do one but also know we need someone in who won't take any shit from the players and will make them wanna make an effort and not just turn up for the money
