If Kaboul leaves, it would be really sad, as we have a player with a special talent here. It is impossible to doubt his talent, but he needs more time, but he will not be given that time, and that is sad to see.

He wants to leave. He was dissapointed when Jol left and he doesn't like how Ramos handles things. I.E. as a professional manager should.

i.e. he's another sulking frog. After him slagging off Ramos how did he expect to get back in the team

How do you come to that conclusion? How many 90 min games did Tainio play for us last year? How many games has he won/lost us since he has been at the club? Yeah, again, like Steed he’s a hardworking professional but he isn’t the sort of calibre of player we should lose sleep over if we sell them for good money (at least what we paid for them).

Keane + Berbs = 50mil
Chimbs + Tainio + Steed + Kaboul = 23mil
Already in the war chest = 25mil

Just shy of a 100mil and saving over 8mil a year in wages on selling those 6? It would be CRIMINAL not to offload.

Think about those figures for a minute. It’s insane.

You dont win any trophys for having money in the bank mt friend

Although if spent wisely we could have stronger team, although id personally keep berba and keane (worth more than 50m... not transfer price but as a whole ther are more valuable to the team).... but still 50m.... pffft that'll do me. By my estimations thats roughly... bently 15m ish, A DM at 15m ish a centre back at 7-8m and with the extra 12-13m buy a few footballs, a couple goal nets and let levy and co get blowjobs off the shareholders.... excellent

 i'd agree with that, with emotional attachment to players aside (and i suppose financial to anyone with Keane or Dimi on their new shirts, but hey-ho), we're linked with some convincing replacements, i just can never drop the concerns with lack of experience in the Prem - it's just so different from all the other European leagues.

On the note of Teemu & Steed - at the beginning of last season, Steed carried us. He was the only player looked like he actually wanted results to go our way, making some devestatingly slow wanders down the flank, his technique more than compensating.

Teemu has shown, every single time he's been put on the field, he can play well and give it more effort and more passion than pretty much all of our players. He's a player who plays from the heart but has such sharp attention, he's very similar to Lee in the way he reads his game, in my opinion, obviously (and again, another really, really underrated Yid with only age against him).

The injury thing i can concede - he hasn't had a good run of it, even before he came here, but not one of us has seen yet what a pre-season and a half can do for a players overall fitness, yet i see regular accusations of sicknotes - hey, if the team can bring in new players and you can so confidently state that, with Ramos at the helm, they'll slot in with no worries and be as good as we hope they will be, why does it not go the other way, with the players that have made a real effort when asked?

Aside from all that, name me one other player we have that can play in the middle and continually make tackle after tackle, track back, harass and actually put in a bit of aggression.

No-one. Thudd was too polite and, when he did show a bit of grit, too clumsy. Jenas was so obsessed with running forward, despite having the first touch of a landmine victim, he wouldn't know what a tackle is if it bit him on the cock. Zokora? Well, i'll happily hold up my hands and say his defensive game apparently came on leaps and bounds after Wendy arrived, then he wanders off to the ANC and becomes the drunk looking, apocolypse-waiting-to-happen tackler that i've always dreaded us signing. Lets hope that at least Didi can pick up for this club where he left off and put his terrible performances for his country behind him.

At the moment i just think we have no options in the middle that can realistically give our defence the cover needed to find confidence, to give the keeper the knowledge that he won't be stopping 30 yarders, four or five times a game, and to show a few teeth in the middle. Teemu is our only player who can put the shits up the top players and laugh his arse off doing it - we've seen that so, unless we've got a real massive line on a world class midfielder who knows how to get stuck in, i think we'd be creating ourselves a big whole in a place where we most need talent right now

I liked Teemu, but at the end of the day,he's only decent. We need better. As for Malbranque,i never liked him at Fulham, and i dont like him at Spurs. His legs are all wrong, they are too stocky,a bit like Tony Cottee,at least Bentley will look good in a spurs kit.

Yes,i am a twat.

All I can say is that I'm glad Teemu played in a final and won a winners medal for us.

Thanks for your service and good luck fella!

TT was one of my favourite players, but was never top 4 standard. A good free transfer, expecially for where the club was at the time.

I actually rate all 4 players. I think it's a great deal for both parties. We get good money and they get 4 players that will certainly improve them.

Are you suggesting that Jol didn't handle things like a professional manager?

Pure hypothesis, but if we'd kept faith with Jol (or Ramos had decided to stay at Sevilla), and he'd been allowed to sign Woody, which of Dawson and Kaboul would have got the bum's rush?
