Why the fuck would any non-40 year old footballer want to go there?

According to other articles about this, they are quite a wealthy club and would meet his wage demands and possibly pay £12-£16m for him which is most of, if not all of what we paid for him.

Plus, they are managed by Scholari so have the Brazilian link there too

If he goes to China then it just shows his lack of ambition, the sooner we get rid the better.

He's just retired from International football too.

I can't see this being genuine though as others have suggested, his age means he still has another chapter in Europe somewhere.

He hasn't really earned big money in his career in comparisson to his peers.
I can see him going unless a russian team comes in for him with big money.

Has he really retired. I haven't read that anywhere . If true that's just stupid as at one point he was the first name in the Brazil first 11 as a CM. I'm sure if he actually bothered he could get back to that point, he just seems a player not that interested any more.

Actually, really sorry - my thought process for some bizarre reason was on Ade!

Serves you all right for singing
'I'd like to get you
on a slow boat to China' at him.

Possibly before your time
but big when I was a lad.
