Christian Benteke due back at Villa tomorrow but move to Spurs still some way off

Christian Benteke is expected to return to training with Aston Villa tomorrow.

The 22-year-old striker has his heart set on a move to Tottenham and handed in transfer request last week but no deal is imminent, with the two clubs far apart on their valuation of the Belgian.

Villa had feared Benteke would repeat the tactics that secured his £7million move from Genk to the Midlands club last summer, when he went on strike. It is believed he is not considering such a drastic course of action.

Villa are adamant Spurs must meet their £25m valuation but the north London club are unwilling to bid anything above £20m for a player who scored 19 goals in his first season in England

I don't mind Levy dragging things out on deals in June and July to get a better price.

Once we start dropping points in August I have some serious issues. But can't complain about anything now with Levy, this has been a great summer so far. Paulinho, AVB turns down PSG, Bale staying, etc.

I follow Johno for more than a year. Usually gets midtable teams like Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa, Swansea transfer business correctly - atleast to who I follow was the first to report on Bony to Swansea.
