I like Eriksen. Plenty of assists, runs hard and covers space. He is not showing up in games like Lamela or Alli who put the foot in and chase lost causes but is still a valuable player in that 3 behind Kane.

You would not see him squaring up to Russell Martin of Norwich after he went in hard like Alli and Lamela in the article below. He is not that kind of player. He does not stand out as much. Eriksen is the quiet achiever.

I've only seen motd highlights, but I saw him create good chances, deliver good corners, and generally enable others. Fine if you have players with fight like Lamela and Alli (although personally I don't like the sort of thing above) but you have to have the sort of craft that Eriksen brings as well, if not moreso.

Form comes and goes

Still an important first team player even if he's not at his best, granted could put Son on in front of him but I think we won the last two games with him on the pitch.

His form is nowhere near as bad as some would have us believe on here. Is he our best player right now? No. Does he contribute to the team enough? For me yes he does. His deft touches little one twos and through balls add to our play style and make us less predictable imo.

Can't understand why this thread is coming now. There are times where the game just passes him by, but the last two hasn't been in that category. He was decent yesterday, and played a very important role in dictating the tempo when we closed the shop at St. Marys last week.

You need a complementary team. No one else in our side does what he does

@SpursStatMan Christian Eriksen created 5 chances vs. Norwich, more than any other player in the game.

I like our whole squad at the moment, Eriksen was so influential around the Sheff Utd game last year that people expect goals all the time. With Alli and Lamela now contributing more he's been less involved in goals and more involved in the creative side.

Can't help but think under Poch it's more about the collective unit and less about the individual's now.

I thought he offered very little yesterday. He didn't have great control of the ball, went into challenges and headers half heartedly and didn't make himself a good outlet.

Maybe he had a barny with his girlfriend?

The thing is MOTD doesn't show him consistently bottling headers/tackles etc. It's so frustrating

One of those players that can look like he isn't offering much but take him out the team and we're weaker for it. He may not be scoring goals and getting assists but his movement and ability to know when to move the ball is vital to us. If I had one complaint it's that he's a complete pussy and just doesn't have it in his locker to win a 50-50.

He has more assists than any other Spurs player this season.

ok its a team game, so long as the others play well and we win 3-0 eriksen can stink it up for the forseeable future, we know he is one of the best midfielders in the premier league, (I wish he would improve his corners).

He's prove in the past for us that he's a top lads player. He is not on good form, but neither was Harry. We persisted with him and now he scores constantly. Same approach with Eriksen (for now), he deserves the chance to play his way back to form and seeing as we are playing well and winning, we can accommodate this.

I think that Eriksen has by far the best first touch of any of our players. His ability to receive a ball played at pace while surrounded by a crowd of opposition players is hugely important in making the transition from the type of area where dier, say, might have relatively comfortable possession into threatening attacking positions.

I find it unbelievable how so many people on this forum seem to doubt his ability. Every single game there are at least three or four moments when Eriksen receives the ball and turns towards goal with a level of control and fluency that simply none of our other players can match.
