Look guys...those of you that say he needs to dominate games more are missing a massive point here.
He plays to far forward to dominate games and run the show for 80% if games! When he drops deeper (tends to be later in games mostly) he DOES dominate and dictate play. When we are in a game v teams we are better than he runs the show from CM taking and giving the ball to runners ect.

You cant run the game from his forward position because when you play there you are not really involved when the back line or cms have the ball. Once it gets to him its all about quick interplay.

He was magnificent in 2nd half last night. His touch, vision, passing and general play was faultless. His goal was the icing on the cake. There are few midfielders across the globe who are as effective as Eriksen at the moment, but for some unknown reason has slipped under the radar and would appear understated. I'm aware that as we are getting greater exposure his ability and contributions will be picked up by more, probably leading to endless summer transfer speculation.

Perhaps it's time for Eriksen to be starting along side of Wanyama or Dier, has much more of an influence in that position and is also a bit more solid defensively than he use to be !
He's an assassin around the box - and playing him deeper negatates that quality. Ideally he need to find a hybrid of him and Mousa to replace the latter one day.

So just had discussion with an arsenal fan (my brother) and we both agreed he's as good as anyone at the moment.
I did however say that he is the only player i could see leaving us this summer, i think he is the only player who teams from abroad might throw silly money at and would be turned. In my opinion he never seems as close to the other players. Maybe thats just his character

He mentioned in an interview just before the FA Cup that the whole squad is very close and they hang out all the time.

Think that's just his character. Seems quite reserved and sensible. Certainly not as laddish as Dier, Alli, Walker etc.

Christian Eriksen is the best CAM in the world.

If you disagree, please inform me of a better CAM (excluding Messi who's played there a bit recently).

If Ozil didn't hate being at Arsenal I think he'd be performing at the same level, certainly capable of it under Poch

Hard to find distance covered stats from the Eredivisie but in 2012 Champions League he covered more distance than anyone in the group stages.

"Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko was caught offside 12 times – more than any other player, and Liverpool and Manchester United target Christian Eriksen covered the biggest distance in the competition for his side Ajax (78186m)."

Neither had Eriksen before Poch tbf

Point is Ozil has just as much ability as Eriksen, if not more. He's just been badly managed at Arsenal.

Yeah I agree, I think it he was taught to play at a higher intensity earlier in his career and nurtured to have a bit more graft his mentality would be better than it is now. Eriksen is going though what Ozil should have been going through at his age. At the moment he is far too indulged at Arsenal and the coaching and mentality at that club means that he's pretty much stagnated to the point where he's in his comfort zone.

I watched virtually all of Eriksen's Ajax games and yes, he was always on the move. It has nothing to do with Poch. I think he's just a natural athlete who'd be running marathons in his spare time if he hadn't been so good at football.

Likewise, Özil is who he is. He grew up in German football, if they couldn't teach him to run, who could?
