I've said from the first day we were linked to him that this was a very special player. I was howling when AVB benched him after the West Ham game, while continuing to start players with zero end product.

I still think we will look back on Sherwood's decision to not play him against Norwich as the biggest blunder of the season. I genuinely believe we will win our remaining games, while Everton and Arsenal will drop 7 and 4 points respectively. That would mean we finish in 6th place, but only 2 points from 4th. I made a long thread about it here minutes after we lost, but I am still 100% convinced we would've beaten Norwich had Sherwood started Eriksen.

Eriksen is possibly the only naturally gifted player in our squad. Almost everyone in squad is grafter material.

His game play is effortless and easy on eye. Having said that ,he is a fighter as well and doesn't shy away from responsibilities. If I am not wrong, apart from one goal, all others has been a game changing goals.

He is just 22 but already played nearly 300 games at professional level. I hope we keep him at least for another 5 years.

Adebayor, Lamela, Dembele? I would say we have a few others.

By the way, it's funny to read JJetSet (who I respect greatly) commenting on Eriksen. I remember he had some interesting remarks about him in the summer well before he signed for us. If I'm not mistaken, he mentioned that Eriksen fancied himself a top top player who envisioned himself at Barca/Madrid.

20 Premiership games. 6 goals. 6 assists. Decent first season (so far) considering he's been injured a bit, in and out of the side, and had to deal with the general madness that is THFC. I wouldn't bet against him adding to both tallies (perhaps significantly on the assists side) by the end of the season either, he really seems to have found some confidence.

In the disappointments of this season I think there have been too many quick judgments made on players we bought. Eriksen has shown he is class elsewhere but like everyone needs tine to settle in to a new country, new team, new styles of play and the EPL. For me this goes for all the players we bought this summer none of whom do I think is useless. They all need management who are smart enough to work out their attributes and decide if these are what they want in the squad. I think we have not seen that this season with either manager. My hope is that whoever is in charge next season can can the best out of each player.

Hmm, I think Konoplyanka is the only viable option personally. That's the calibre of player we will be looking at, we wont be anywhere near the 'big' names. Unless we get someone on the decline (Sneijder?)

You know what's worst about Eriksen beginning to look so special ?

We're all sat here knowing that Levy is already seeing £ signs flash up. We'll make him a serious football star and then he'll move on and be that star somewhere else whilst we glory in our £40/50m profit.

It's soul destroying.

We're all part of the food chain. Arsenal are a bigger feeder club than us!

I'm sure Levy would want to keep Eriksen but if he starts performing regularly it will be almost impossible to keep him. Bigger teams can offer him higher wages and consistent challenges for trophies that are beyond us.
