He's starting to have the level of influence in our side that Modric used to have. He makes everything happen and turns mere possession into goal threat. The difference, if the future goes as we hope, is that he can be Modric but with goals.

Eriksen came for a relatively modest transfer fee in part because he hasn't created the same kind of stir as international level as Ozil has. But there was also another reason, which was his reputation for erratic form: he'd dominate a few games and then go missing on the pitch for a month. None of that has been in evidence since he returned from injury, indeed he has been extremely consistent, making chances in nearly every game, getting assists or scoring in most of them and increasingly observing his defensive responsibilities as well.

I will be astonished is he is not our player of the year by a considerable margin. He's certainly established himself as the key player in the side, the one who makes us tick. When we tick.

I think now Chadli has settled we've found our best XI. I'm sure a good manager would see this.

Lloris
Walker Chiriches Vertonghen Rose/New
Sandro
Dembele--Eriksen
Lamela------------------Chadli
Adebayor
Main rotating players should be Kaboul, Capoue, Holtby, Paulinho, Townsend & Soldado.

Eriksen is central to our creativity and along with Lamela and Chadli we should be very intelligent in attack under the right coach. Could be a strikers paradise.

I think on his best day Paulinho > Dembele, but to be fair Paulinho's form has been erratic. Dembele's never put in a performance like Paulinho did vs Stoke though.

Also I'm still not sure if Sandro is better than Capoue.

Like that, But maybe shifting Townsend out wide. Very wide. So wide that he is in another country?

Yeah I guess choosing in those two positions is very subjective. It won't really make much difference but the key is I think we've found our best attacking combination. Lamela hasn't featured yet but give it time and i'm sure he'll be in there week in week out.

I can anticipate an argument for Adebayor when it comes to our player of the year, given the impact he has had since his return. Lloris would be another that has been relatively consistent this season. However, I agree that Eriksen has become an extremely important player for us...possibly the important player. He has the unpredictability that comes with the quickness of thought, and the skills to match. I'm not surprised that he has played such an important role in creating chances (I believe he had more assists last season than any other player - including Ozil - in Europe), but I've been pleasantly surprised by his goals.

Interesting comparison to Modric. I know Modric's early days at the club have often been regarded as ineffective, but I thought he did well when playing in a free role on the left (where he would often play for Dinamo Zagreb). Similarly, Kranjcar played in that position as well, and again was able to offer a lot in terms of creativity further up the field.

I hope whoever comes in can avoid the temptation of playing Eriksen in a more central position, as I feel that he thrives in a more attacking role. A metronomic midfielder behind him, and preferably Sandro or another ball winner, would complement Eriksen's abilities well.

Eriksen is possibly the only naturally gifted player in our squad. Almost everyone in squad is grafter material.

His game play is effortless and easy on eye. Having said that ,he is a fighter as well and doesn't shy away from responsibilities. If I am not wrong, apart from one goal, all others has been a game changing goals.

He is just 22 but already played nearly 300 games at professional level. I hope we keep him at least for another 5 years.

Looks pretty good, but still needs a left back, central midfielder, left winger, and another forward to be a complete squad. Oh and a backup CB.

I'd take Blind, Clasie, Konoplyanka, and Lukaku/Hernandez/Kruse/Remy/other plus a CB. Think that would complete our team.
