He’s the exact profile of player we need in the squad right now. He’s loved by the fans, our players, and appreciated by our manager. If we can help him get back to his best, he can help us get back to our best. Get Chris back in.

Would love for this to be us assuming all the medical stuff is okay. Won the title at Inter last season in Contes system and would help tide us over until we bring in a top quality midfielder.

He would be a perfect fit for what Tottenham needs, he also knows Conte and the club well. But I wonder if Newcastle comes in with a massive contract.

I really hope it's us.

I guess Newcastle is an obvious. Seen Brentford mentioned for a Danish connection which I could just about be OK with.

Its ok, if its not us its safe to assume Conte just wasn't too sure on him. And we should back that.

Love eriksen, but why must we always go back to players to replace themselves, as a club we need to look forward.

We've had ITK of us looking at him.

Doesn't seem like fans of any particular club have heard about him coming to them.

I find myself hoping it’s us, but if I’m honest with myself it’s only because I don’t have faith in the club to recruit anybody better. I’d much rather we were progressive but I’m not counting on that.

Not sure why this is a narrative. There’s nothing inherently negative or backwards about signing a former player. We’ve seen players return to their former clubs and have positive impacts, including our own.

If he was coming here I think we would know by now.

My money is on Brentford with their big Danish contingent.

It is probably up to us as you would have to imagine that Spurs are his first choice. He said England was his home but London is probably far more attractive to him and his partner than Newcastle. Add to that the difference in club cultures, getting to know a new system, etc.

Or maybe we have other players in that 10 position further up in priority like Dybala, so both Eriksen and we are monitoring the situation and deciding when we know more about the others, could be?
