If he would go to United at this point given all that United has become versus what Tottenham is becoming, then he is dead to me regardless of the money. if he goes to United at this point he is not the person we thought he was.
Would be pretty ironic as he left our club for a club like our club aspiring for more, but when presented the opportunity to do the same thing again but with the bonus of it being Spurs this time, he'd rather join a 2019-20 Tottenham-style team in United, a team he wanted to leave originally.

If he goes to united his bad. I thought he wanted Champs League. Never mind his choice to go to a club on the down rather than one reaching for the stars.

Wishkah said its the agent is trying -not that Eriksen is demanding it personally.
Eriksen in last Danish interview said he will go on holidays - his agent will engage & work on the offers - Then he will look at whats there & he will decide. This is just the agent trying to do the best for his client at the moment. United offer may very well be incredible, Eriksen may still chose a lesser offer... who knows

Eriksen never struck me as the money grabbing type. I swear we offered the same amount as Inter when he was leaving and he still decided to go so it showed it wasn't about the finances. It was just a fresh start and a new challenge.

Yeah I think we might have a little lull now. Even with Spence it seems like that might take a while for the two clubs to eventually agree on a fee.

Eriksen is on holiday. Richarlison is on holiday. Spence probably is at this point too. LCB seems up in the air until there are more developments at Inter.

I could see things going a bit quiet after Bissouma then picking up near the end of the month.

Agents have one task and that is to maximize the return for their client. CE will be looking to cash in on his free agent status. I dont find this bad, its a natural evolution in the business. Why should the players be rewarded with a fraction of what clubs pay to each other to transfer rights?
Everyone can stop talking about Brentford IMO. It was a mutially beneficial deal between Thomas Frank and CE, but CE can and will aim higher, both on the pitch and on his paychecks. And he will be on the teamsheet for the WC no matter where he plays

I've always been doubtful he would come back. I'm sure he has a strong affection for Spurs but he's certainly never been gushing and was pretty ruthless in deciding he would not sign a new deal in the height of the Poch era. I don't hold anything against him for that but for that reason I won't surprised at all for him to decide he wants to try a different club.

Man U have liked him for a while too. People like to be wanted and also try new things. I have always thought it would be more of a surprise to the wider footballing world him coming back to us than going somewhere else, especially another big club. Again, though, we just don’t know. It will be up to him and his agent where he goes. Nobody else, “his agent controls everything“ once said Daniel Levy.

I have to admit i was split about him returning to us. Having had a serious illness myself I have a tremendous empathy with his position and the uncertainty from having to rely on a piece electronics to keep going. I know first hand how that changes your outlook on life and how your focus is on what is important like family rather than money. On that basis I welcome him home, but if it is still all just about money, then both sides might as well move on. His decision.

would be a blow if he went to united not because of it weakening us... I think Deki will grow into someone on the same level but more because it strengthens united massively. He is a far better player than fernandes and I am convinced fernandes constant moaning on the pitch is a huge part of the issues there and if he plays less that issue goes away and they become a much tougher proposition.

Yeah I gathered that. My point is it’s Eriksen’s call. He said he wants Champ’s League. Therefore he wants medals. Who currently is in the best position to deliver his desires. Agents work for the client. If he wanted the Spurs he demands his agent deliver the deal.

His choice at the end of the day! It’s one I haven’t being that worried about either way! I loved him when he played for us and want to see him do well, would sting seeing him at united but oh well.
Plenty attacking mids around, just hope it doesn’t alter our plans in other areas that much.

Personally I was pretty keen on him returning when I thought he’d be a different option in CM compared with Bentancur, Skipp and Hojbjerg as well as allowing us to switch formation and cover Kulusevski. He’s a way of injecting creativity into our side which we lacked at times.

Having signed Bissouma I’m less bothered though. I don’t think you need 5 CM for 2 spots most of the time. It may be that we look to add that creativity in competition in the front three. Raphinhia for example would allow you that creativity but from a wide position. Paqueta sounds like he could cover up front in a pinch in a way which Eriksen couldn’t. I know they in theory take up more of the budget but it depends what offer of wages and signing on fee we’d be competing with.

If he still ends up coming then great but I think there’s other ways of achieving the same goal of providing cover, competition and creativity. The deals we’ve done so far have been savvy with regards to the budget used and it may be that the overall package cost isn’t dissimilar anyway.
