is it a pre-requisite for that company that all pundits have to be slowly turning into a potato? He's Brazil-ing in front of our very eyes.
Following up on this, thought some may enjoy the fine work of this AI.

If I were Eriksen at this particular juncture of his career and what has recently happened, I would be more interested in getting game time over money. At Brentford, he would be in no doubt an automatic starter, whilst this is not guaranteed here or at United. I also think the London factor will play an important part in his decision. From his perspective, he must be delighted after all that has gone before, that he has a number teams interested in signing him.

I'd normally agree with that but in this upcoming season playing every game might be a bit top much. Clubs like Brentford are basically going to be playing a European schedule so being a guaranteed starter could be too much there.

It really does feel like it’s between us and Brentford.

The romantic in me would love to see that there can be examples of loyalty in today’s game. Brentford took a risk with him and they are such a good club with a great ownership and management team. I know some of them.

But if it’s not then, it’ll be great to see this classy fella back at The Lane.
They were in poor form, and the chance to sign a world class player popped up. Bar the wages, which were probably reduced heavily, what was the risk?
Anyway he paid them back by keeping them up.
It was all business and they owe each other nothing in my eyes.

No need for meltdowns just yet, 1 source saying "may not".
Moreover, even if we don’t get him it’s manageable given we’re still early in the window and there are other alternatives.

I have to say, I’d have assumed that if we were likely to have got him, we’d have announced him by now. Might well be wrong, but my sense is that the longer it goes on, the less likely it is. And there might be lots of reasons why he doesn’t want to come back, not least guarantees over playing time etc, so let’s not throw the mercenary card at him straight away.

Either way, what is important for us is that we would benefit from a bit more creativity in the middle. Eriksen isn’t the only one who could provide that, it would just represent a really neat, effective solution that would work on many levels.

Much like Bastoni - if we don’t get him, so be it, as long as credible, high quality alternatives are also being progressed

We’ve started the window well. If we get Spence we’ll have started it exceptionally well. Steady as she goes, Eriksen or not

Dragon almost always looks on the negative side of things too.

Not saying it’s completely dead in the water, but it is interesting the info from dragon after Trix updating about him speaking to United a couple of days ago.

Think Trix said at the time it was his opinion not fact that he saw it more unlikely than likely, but even still it is somewhat strange his agent is telling multiple clubs they’re his first choice.

Not going to wet the bed over this though, if anything our transfer window so far has proved we have multiple irons in the fire at any one time for each position.

The "anytime soon" might simply imply that Christian is taking his time to decide. It can be interpreted in various ways, we'll just have to wait to see.

At least we have lots of other player links to talk about while we're waiting. :)

I thought the point was that it's standard procedure for agents to say that, so the information that trickles through may just be a reflection of agent bias and sweet talk.

Regardless, post of the year from Trix. Highlights the additional variables at play with information we receive.

The Danish journalist on SSN just now was saying that talks with Man Utd are still ongoing and that ETH is prioritising him and FDJ as his 2 midfielders.

it’s SSN and it’s a journo so doesn’t mean it’s true but it doesn’t feel anywhere near as nailed on as we’d hoped. He’s the one I really want, we always just about managed to cover all other various positions last season but the one we absolutely struggled with was creativity when teams sat back. Not sure there’s anyone better to buy than Eriksen bearing in mind the context.

Would be gutted to see him go to United. Was relieved when I saw the Athletic story that it was between us and Brentford. Especially annoying because he’s exactly what we need in the squad and on a free.

With the way we’re operating… and the relentlessness of paratici I just can’t see that we wouldn’t be fighting for him with all of these comments about united. Something strange about this deal, and united is just a very strange move all round. Have Bruno already, not in London, not in CL…

Would love him back, but also wouldn't be so bothered if he didn't come back.

Journalists are only out to do one thing and that's to earn views and clicks. They need to regurgitate the same story over and over to keep people interested.

I think the situation is the same either way. He has had offers from us and United, he's now in holiday. When he makes the decision he will make the one that's best for him. Whatever he chooses, wish him the best either way.

I still have a sneaky feeling he will choose us, if he wants the better chance of winning something with Conte, CL football and also unfinished business. Its a matter of being patient now, and if he doesn't come, then I'm sure Paratici has someone else lined up to fit the role.
