I prefer Huddlestone to Toure tbh. Similar size, but way better suited to the 'Tottenham Way'. City are gonna bore me. Despite having some tasty players, the'll be typically negative under Mancini.

A couple of comments about him not playing much football over the last few seasons? Where did this come from? 30 apperances last season and 40 the season before, this is what pisses me off about alot of supposed football fans, they no absolutely balls all regarding any football outside their own club, of course we are different on here.

IMO VdV is a better player than any of the midfielders they have bought including Silva, I guess time will only tell if I am right but I think his style of play is well suited to the PL.

HaHaHaHa!! I'm sitting at work in fits of laughter at some of these City comments. I love Tottenham Hotspur and I love Harry Redknapp and Mr Levy!!

Quality signing. No striker in which i'm a little worried about but I trust these two men. Levy knows his business and 'Arry knows his football.

Striker would have been nice but i reckon Keano will do the business if given a run in the team!

It's great. To think so much fuss was made of the Robinho transfer, at what? £32.5m? And yesterday saw City sell him for £10m less while we sign VDV for £8m. Yet people have the nerve to question the policy of Daniel Levy?

look at the amount of vdv threads

At indoor football last nite my Manure mates were seriously pissed off, apparantly VdV said (I dunno when or if indeed true) that the only team he would leave Real for would be Man U, looks like he changed his mind and from his comments (I know, I know) he seems pretty happy and excited.

He moire accurately said the only team that wasn't a step down from Madrid are Utd, nothing about only leaving for them

That's a polite word for it:wink:

Apologies, it was obviously the manure mans over egging the pudding. I found his exact quote.

Rafael van der Vaart is one of the players who could exit Real Madrid this summer to make way for Jose Mourinho’s new players.
The talented Dutchman has claimed that the only club that wouldn’t be a step down after the Spanish giants in Manchester United, claiming he would find it difficult to turn down an offer to play for Sir Alex Ferguson.
“I could never play for another club in Spain and the truth is that if you are leaving Real Madrid, there is only one club you can join that is not a step down – and that’s Manchester United,” he said. “They are a huge club and if the reported interest they have in me turns out to be true, then I would really have to sit down and listen. If Manchester United could offer me first-team football with the situation as it is at Madrid, it would be very hard to turn down. Alex Ferguson is a great coach and I would never think about joining a team where I didn’t believe I could win things, so all of a sudden that limits your choices. At Manchester United you know success is likely and that’s a big factor for me at this stage of my career. If Jose Mourinho makes it clear I won’t play much, I see my future in English football.”

He came out afterwards saying he'd never once said anything like this.

Well since has accepted a move to us it doesn't look like he did, either that or he was telling porkies.

He really said

The only club I would leave Real Madrid for is Tottenham Hotspur. I have always wished to one day follow in the footsteps of Hoddle, Gazza, Ardiles and Klinsmann. They are an amazing club with great honour and tradition. My wife would love life in London too, where here periods will no longer attract bears.
