Think about it. Why would a president go to the press and tell them and the world all this info? If there been another bid or interest then fine speak to them. But going to the press to me is a big shout to Spurs. Get the deal done on our terms. It may not be fee. It may be how fee is paid. Levy loves his lets spread it over 5 years. Lyon may not want that and want the money in now so they can go after there targets. All a bit strange

I can't believe our club can make such a story about signing such a player who for now doesn't seem to be a starter anyway. We are only desperate and rightly so, because we have only one striker at all. It seems we have the hardest task to find players while teams way below us happily collect one solid player after another. Some will tell us ah nothing about us or Levy, agents etc.... but sorry, can't really take it serious. For a final word I will still wait the two weeks but once again the "we want our business to be done by the Audi Cup" sounds ridicoulos and it seems we don't know how the market nowadays works. At the moment I have no faith at all that we buy a striker or cm IN ADDITION TO NJIE that are in the needed quality and experience. Yes they have their price but look at our incoming revenue out of transfers and tv money.

If the scum didn't do this when we were after Lloris, why are they doing it now? Feel like this is all silly buggers on the Lyon side and the scum had made a cursory call earlier in the Summer and Aulas is using it now to fuck with us.

He's some guy, why are we taking his opinion as fact? Looks like he's made conclusions on the idea that another club is interested, there's absolutely no evidence that Lyon have stopped the transfer in it's tracks, just that another club are sniffing around.
Because he's being pro-Tottenham, OK?

OK?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't we even sign a slightly promising (but not spectacular) player without it turning into such a fucking saga?

Brushed this off as bullshit but it's starting to look like we really are the thick bastards that release one first team striker, and our last resort youth striker on the same day, only to leave ourselves up shit creek.

If we haven't got one striker nailed down as a replacement that is nothing more than amateurish from the club. No strong opinion on N'jie either way but if this falls through Levy's going to look like a gullible prick.

@Raymond_Jacquet Have Lyon stopped it for now? What do you think will happen?

Raymond Jacquet ‏@Raymond_Jacquet 1m1 minute ago
@Nick90Rollinson For now, yes. But I still think Njie will join Tottenham. Arsenal doesn't really need that kind of player.

He's not a journo of any sort, but he's right. It would be absolutely nonsensical for Arsenal to bid for him. The only reason they would do that would be to piss us off.

Right, from now on, I suggest we all loathe Arsenal! Who's with me?!

Perhaps Levy's negotiation tactics of bygone years are coming back to haunt us. Too many have grudges dealing with Spurs. Lyon, Sevilla, Southampton, Chelsea for sure

Erm, he just reported what l'Equipe said and is now fielding questions from English fans. Seems both amused and bewildered, to be honest!

If we've agreed a fee how can Lyon block the deal lol...that's absurd. Having a bid accepted, and preparing the work that goes into such a bid, is not as simple as it sounds. A lot of work goes into that whole process.

If there is hesitation due to a third party showing interest, it must be the player himself.

I mean why are we using him as some insider type guy? Aulas never said the transfer was blocked, seems he's jumped to conclusions and because people are peppering him with questions he's being treated like an insider.

I'd be perfectly happy with Berahinho and Yarmolenko and reckon we should sneak them in while everyone's distracted by N'jie. Of course that would require someone to tell @JJetset to tell Poch Yarmolenko is the new and improved Ginola and get a deal done in the next few hours, but it's got to be worth a shot, surely?

As much as I hate the scum, they seem a pretty well run club who do things above bored. Unlike chelski who would actually do it to take the piss
