French newspaper Le Parisien stated in their Saturday edition that Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed a transfer of Fazio from Tottenham Hotspur is on the club's agenda. Lyon need a new central defender and Fazio is one of two remaining candidates say Le Parisien.

The other is Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa of AS Roma, the guy who Lionel Messi grabbed the throat of during the Gamper Trophy 'friendly' game last week. Lyon have made efforts on both fronts and are formulating a bid for Yanga-Mbiwa, formerly of Newcastle United, to send to AS Roma.

With Fazio things are different because Tottenham want to sign Clinton Njie and have now made two or three, depending on who you believe, attempts to sign the player. Tottenham and Lyon are getting closer on valuation each time and it looks likely a deal could be done.

Fazio is no longer said to be a direct part of any deal for Njie but talks between the two clubs can certainly extend to the defender, indeed that's how Lyon's Fazio interest was kicked off this summer. Tottenham will be mainly concentrating on getting a deal done for Njie, that will be their priority rather than trying to sell Fazio.

Happy to see Fazio sold if not in Poch's plans, Veljkovic/CCV can fill in as fifth CB when needed and Davies can do a job there as well.

Can this guy play on the right? Or does he play left and cut in?

According to who scored every appearance he made last season was central apart from once on the right and once at am They seemed to mainly play a front 2 with a midfield diamond. I can't say I watched last season though but that's the information I found when I looked

Of the forwards linked to us, this one excited me the most. He seems to have the raw ingredients for the premier league.

He is a striker but he is good on either flank. I'd expect him to be more on the left for us.

Personally I hope he or whichever attacker we sign plays on the right, I think lamela ' s best centrally and that Eriksen and Chadli are more effective on the left than lamela is on the right, if that makes sense, so new RW and lamela, Eriksen, Chadli and Pritchard to fight it out for am and lw

Prolific both left & right. He was so good when paired with Lacazette , their main striker.

If we were to get both Njie & Berahino, we will play Berahino on left, Njie on right & Kane center.

L'equipe reporting that a new bid for Njie is rejected:

'Dans le sens des départs, alors que Lyon a refusé une nouvelle offre de Tottenham pour l’attaquant Clinton Njie en fin de semaine, Aulas explique que son club est davantage «préoccupé par l’arrivée de renforts que par la question des départs qu'on posera éventuellement à la fin du mercato s’il y a lieu de le faire après discussion avec l’entraîneur»'

Basically saying the chairman refused an new offer from us for Njie at the end of the week and that the club is mainly focusing on the arrival of reinforcements rather than asking the question who could leave eventually at the end of the transfer window - if there is room [for outgoing transfers] after discussions with the manager.

PS. No mention of Fazio.

I posted a few pages back along with this one, which shows the other side of his game. Very, very raw player but potential is there.

Fucking hell, seriously? After scouring the earth for a wide forward this is the guy we've found? I can only hope this is the worst game he's ever had because he's absolutely useless in this performance. Poor touch, gives the ball away, misses a sitter. Buy buy buy.

Probably obvious, but another reason he is useful is because he is obviously used to playing second fiddle to a striker who is the teams best player, and Kane is one of ours.
