Nothing too complicated! (Actually isn't nearly as much as it might sound) When I wrote it up I actually omitted N'Jie because I knew nothing about him and the rest of the list is quite clearly a bunch of widely coveted super talented youngsters.
In itself you could just say, well so what, he had a good season, and whilst true, I looked at previous seasons too and it was pretty reliable:
2010 top 5: Ozil, Aguero, Jovetic, Kroos, A Sanchez
2011: Pato, Pastore, Walcott, Reus Gotze
2012: Hazard, Welbeck, Belhanda, Pjanic, Isco (Lamela 6th)
2013: Ljacic, Lukaku, Draxler, Insigne, El Sharaawy (Lamela 8th)
2014: Neymar, Calhanoglu, Lukaku, Son, Eriksen
Pretty solid hit rate there, enough certainly to take a punt on a player who projects well according to similar measures.

I'm on the fence as to whether our statistical scouting is good or simplistic. When we get linked to players I can understand easily through the numbers, it makes me think that maybe our system is a bit simple! Trippier is a great example of this. On numbers he stood out a mile, but does that make him a good defending right back? That's a completely different story, so you wonder.

Going back to your original post from last season that I can't quote now, I've said this elsewhere but Fekir is the player I'd have loved to take from Lyon.

They just showed N'Jie's FM stats on Sky Sports (they really are taking the piss) and then compared him to Soldado. Apparently, Soldado and N'Jie have the same pace.

OK.

Think we have bought their 3rd forward/attacker, Fekir is their 2nd and Lacazette their CF. I'd have liked Lcazette but he wasn't available (and how we would have played him with Kane is another issue) and Lyon extended his contract as they did with Fekir.

However N'Jie was available so I'm happy enough - raw but assuming we buy another CF I'm happy to help develop him for the right price

Frankly I'd prefer to see Lamela, Yedlin, Townsend, Chadli, Oduwa, Onomah and Pritch in the WF spots over this guy... failing to see the point/worth of this one.

Unpopular opinion - perhaps...
Amnesty - fire away!
