Fournier: "The departure of Clinton Njié [to Spurs] is well advanced because the sums involved are substantial."

Fournier: "The departure of Clinton Njié would be a disappointment because he still has a beautiful room for improvement."

he is by no means the finished article and he has a heavy touch that will frustrate, but lets hope he can be coached and get off to a flying start (providing the deal doesn't get hijacked)

Yeah, that comparison would check out. Werner's numbers weren't all that last year, Martial had very low shot creation numbers and I think we both agree that on the creative side of things Berahino is a bit Defoe. I guess it depends what your benchmark is. N'Jie is still at the potential stage, it's just that like someone like Kane he has a season under his belt that had very tangible returns. So you'd presume that whilst not the finished article, you are buying a player to play, not just clog up the bench.

As regard chance creation, here's his key pass/90 rate against the original list of players I put up by way of comparison:

At the lower end across these guys but broadly comparable to say Anderson or Fekir for rate. In fact, and I agree Fekir is very good, and probably a better prospect, his numbers look very similar, with allowances for the difference in the positions they occupied.

Playing with some of the best young players in Europe? Mr N'Jie, meet Mr Eriksen, Kane and Lamela :)
Lamela????

What time does he have to sign by tomorrow to be eligible to play Saturday?
noon i think...but its wishful thinking that he'll play at the weekend.
JJ stated that it could take a while to be announced backs this up imo.

Seems a good prospect. Think Poch can really get the best out of him in time. Does he make us any stronger now, this season though? we really need this to be the start of a few players in. Berahino makes us stronger now

Think it's midday

Amazing. That'll mean two meltdowns in a week.

Firstly the "Berahino playing for current team" meltdown and now the "he's not going to sign before midday" meltdown.

Amazing. Can't wait for this one ... *Michael Jackson popcorn gif*

There's way too much noise on this one now for it not to be done soon. Personally i'm delighted as I think he's gonna be a total livewire.

With that said, I'm more excited that I'll finally gonna be able to get away from this horrific thread.
It's like herion, isn't it? Totally consuming, yet makes you feel shitty most the time.

Rule U.1 of the Premier League Rules ...

(Yeah, I definitely didn't ask the work experience girl to research this ...) [I genuinely didn't, I was really close to though]

A Player shall not play for a Club in a League Match unless that Club holds his registration (which shall include, in the circumstances set out in Rules U.3 and U.12, confirmation that he is eligible to play for it) with effect from at least 75 minutes before kick-off and for League Matches to be played between the close of the First Transfer Window and the end of the Season either:

U.1.1. his name is included on the Squad List; or
U.1.2. he is an Under 21 Player.

... [after consultation with @jasswolf] ...

U.17 - new registration of a contract player shall be effected by submitting a copy of the contract to the Secretary.

U.23 - the deadline of receipt by the Secretary ... [of such materials] ... shall be 12 noon on the last Workding day before the league match

... THEREFORE FRIDAY BEFORE NOON.

All credit to @jasswolf, not my half-arsed attempt.

So it doesn't have to be announced today at all?
*goes that section of the rules*

- The club needs to have the two FAs confirm the transfer
- The club needs the FA to approve him being added to the squad list
- Club Secretary needs to sign off before noon of the last business day before the match

So it's noon tomorrow.
