I know one of the SC statos was keeping track of how we doing game by game last year compared to the previous season.

Has anyone kept track of how we are doing this year compared to last year?

Equating the following:

QPR – Norwich City
Burnley - Fulham
Leicester – Cardiff

Here is where we stand against last season's comparative fixtures. This year's result is first, with last year's in the parenthesis.

West Ham (A) – W (L) +3
QPR (H) – W (W) no change
Liverpool (H) – L (L) no change
Sunderland (A) – D (W) -2
West Brom (H) – L (D) -1
Arsenal (A) – D (L) +1
Southampton (H) – W (W) no change
Man City (A) – L (L) no change
Newcastle (H) – L (L) no change
Aston Villa (A) – W (W) no change
Stoke City (H) – L (W) -3
Hull City (A) – W (D) +2
Everton (H) – W (W) no change
Chelsea (A) – L (L) no change
Crystal Palace (H) – D (W) -2
Swansea (A) – W (W) no change
Burnley (H) – W (W) no change
Leicester (A) – W (W) no change
Man U (H) – D (D) no change
Chelsea (H) W (D) +2
Crystal Palace (A) – L (W) -3
Sunderland (H) – W (W) no change
West Brom (A) – W (D) +2
Arsenal (H) – W (L) +3
Liverpool (A) – L (L) no change

So far we are 2 points better off than the same fixtures last season.

Scary to think where we'd be at had Kane not emerged. Mid table I'd guess.

Also, annoyingly is thinking of how we took a while to get going this season and had we not "dropped points" in a handful of matches, where we could be now. A late equaliser by Sunderland (2-2, although Harry did score it!), losing at home to West Brom and Newcastle and losing away to Palace, that could have been +2 for holding on at Sunderland and +3 for a draw instead of the losses and that would be an extra 6 points (minimum) which would have us in 3rd, 1pt above Utd.

But, every team has some 'unexpected' results and this shows where we could be, so assuming Poch' is supported and we get the right players in in the summer, thinking ahead positively, we could be in a great position.

Possibly, but it's difficult to think like that. Had he not emerged, perhaps Soldado would have found some confidence and have been baning them in by now, or we would have got anotgher striker, or brought Lamela or Chadli on as strikers or who knows what?

Of course he's the leagues top striker, so we would ahve been worse off almost certainly, but it's been Eriksens goals which have been the point winning ones for the most part.

If you are really thinking about the 'what ifs' of this season. Spare a thought for the other teams that we have beaten after the 85th minute & onwards!

What we need to know is how many points Arsenal are better/worse off. We can assume that Southampton and Man Utd are better off and Liverpool worse off.

Well on the other hand I'd say we've been very lucky in some games, Villa, Hull, Swansea, Leicester, etc.

The somewhat scary thing is looking at the remaining fixtures, and our results in them last year.

West Ham (H) – (L)
Swansea (H) – (W)
QPR (A) – (L)
Man U (A) – (W)
Leicester (H) – (W)
Burnley (A) – (W)
Aston Villa (H) – (W)
Newcastle (A) – (W)
Southampton (A) – (W)
Man City (H) – (L)
Stoke City (A) – (W)
Hull City (H) – (W)
Everton (A) – (D)

A few of those of course are improvable, but six wins on the trot in there will be very difficult to achieve.

Or maybe one of the other strikers would've stepped up. Or not. Does it really matter?

Bottom line is that Kane did step up and Poch played the situation well, got his form up in other competitions and got him hungry to get in the Premier League set-up. Good management.

Be happy, why look for the negative in a positive stat?!?

After last season's terrible record against the top-4 teams (1 point), it's good to see an improvement.

On the down side, to take just one, it's disappointing to have taken only 1 point from Palace and we were fortunate to get that as Palace were the better team in the draw at WHL.

Because I don't think we will be as good compared to the other top teams next season and I'm being realistic.

I think we're playing better now and will equal or better this.

We won away at Stoke last year just FYI
