Confirmed squad members for new season?

I just went through this exercise and came to the conclusion that we might HAVE to hire a DOF just so that we have a squad to start the season with - its terrifying isnt it?

Goal - Friedel, Gomes, Cudicini
Defenders - Walker, Kaboul, Dawson, BAE, Rose, Smith, Caulker
Midfield - Lennon, Parker, Hudd, Jake, Sandro, Bale, VDV, Townsend
Strikers - Defoe

Exit saloon - JJ, Bentley, Ledley, Gallas, Charlie, Modric, Pienaar, Gio, Bassong
Gone - Saha, Nelsen, Ade

Maybe we sign Ade and keep one of Ledley or Galas for another season but otherwise, its a bit of a worry isnt it?
Whats Portugese for 'bare bones?' (Give it a month)

TBH, I would expect a new manager to give every single one of our players the once-over, before deciding whether he wants to go ahead and sell - so I would have you Exit Saloon a little less full.

Sorry OP but that's a bit crazy, to think that we won't have a manager in place within the next week to 10 days is madness.

Currently we have a squad of:

Friedal, Cudicini, Gomes
Walker, Naughton, Corluka, Kaboul, Dawson, Bassong, Gallas, King, Caulker, Ekotto, Rose
Lennon, Bentley, Jenas, Huddlestone, Modric, Sandro, Parker, Livermore, Bale, Pienaar
VdV, GdS, Defoe, Saha

So that's 3 players too many for a 25 man squad.

I can't see any reason why by selling/releasing 7 of those players we then can't sign a further 4 new ones before the season starts to have a full squad of 25.
