It actually epitomises what has been wrong with Spurs for many years. Premature gloating and believing our own hype before we've actually achieved anything.

Forget talking the talk and just walk the fucking walk instead.

Exactly, just like that fucking "la la la your'e shit" chant when we are only 1 or 2-0 up, bites us in the arse and makes us look like pricks.

Our season ended the day we drew Chelsea nothing else mattered.

I'd much rather we played our heart out when it mattered and lost our heads the day the title went. Just remember those gloating today support a team which only plays well when it's out of the title race.

Our season ended the day we drew Chelsea nothing else mattered.

It ended when we failed to beat a very average west brom it then was then a steady decline culminating in yesterdays not so suprising surrender.
The players who were being quoted saying they wanted to finish above Arsenal blah blah and end the season on a high, were in the end empty words and and a couple of spineless performances.
Im glad its over now otherwise a few more weeks and we would have gone missing from the top four too, i will take what we have but as usual we let ourselves down.

At the start of April I posted I thought we'd finish third behind Arsenal and got a few dislikes and disagree ratings. I didn't like posting it, but at the time I honestly thought that's the way it would end.....we'd been on a great extended run, and I felt our form would change. Gutted to see it actually happen.

Atleast you managed your expectations though. (y)

Every time someone asked me about Spurs winning the league I answered we were aiming for top 4. Obviously people got carried away with our season, and why not dare to dream. But you have too many accidents and you learn to insure yourself. Still hurts, but my anger management is pretty much in check compared to many on here who will be getting lectures from their GP in the not too distant future.

Has this been discussed yet?
Only suggestion for me is St Christopher's Day in honour of the patron saint of travellers (and a polite way of reminding them of their south london roots). Ideally it could be a lot more derogatory but i cant think of anything at the moment.

The person who started this thread is a tool.

Leave the thread open, it will serve as a lesson to anyone who wants to start these shit threads early in the future.

Ok it was as premature as i would be after hearing kate bekinsale whisper in my ear fuck me now but ......

I cant see how the person who started the thread is to blame for the team dropping the ball for the last 3 weeks its a bit much to coat the fella off.

How about st wenger day for every year he is with them or st win fuck all day, celebrated at the point they cant win anything....

wheres that grabbing coat and scarpering smiley?

Seriously though this is their highest finish in 11 years. Theyve been well short of where they would like to be and have gone backwards in recent years. The gap between us and them is fag paper wide. In fact even they would admit we deserved to finish above them.

I had a feeling we were going to fuck it up. £100 is scant consulation though.

Im still pretty confident and certainly not suicidal like most seem to be.

Won't make a blind bit of difference. Next time we're in the ascendency they'll be the same threads and the same lording it over other teams. And anyone pointing out they it might be a bit premature will be dismissed as a miserable old, pessemistic git.

The god of the gaps strikes again,
although I think he was summoned more in the race to the title thread than this one.
The 2 horse race was a media construction. Leicester had this won some time ago.
The truth was we hadn't at any point shaken arsenal off our tails.

Yep can agree with West Brom. I think the overall tone on your post is too harsh; i think you are placing too much emphasis on the recent blip in form. Every team gets it, ours just happens to be in the end of the season and understandably after losing hope.

I never believed the 'we will finish above arsenal' thing. No one professional cares. You play your best regardless of you are up against.
