So you're cool with these rules forever then? Anybody can get sick from anything and we have a vaccine that works against it.

There’s a substantial minority who actually would be happy with these rules forever.

To the extent they’d openly support mandatory vaccines for all non-compliers.

Must be the first time in recorded history that those demanding others be forced, coerced or otherwise pressured into compliance are apparently the Good Guys…

This is life now unfortunately. It’ll never go back to normal, most clubs will get this over the next few months

okay I didn't want to chime in and get into a discourse about covid here but this take is a complete oxymoron

wouldn't the major goal of having everyone vaccinated be that we wouldn't have to "live with these rules forever"

Highly unlikely to return multiple false positives all at one club
Oddly enough, we did have two false positives previously reported at the same time earlier in the season. (Believed to be Son and Gil).

Maybe they need to blow their nose more.

wouldn't. the major goal of having everyone vaccinated be that we wouldn't have to "live with these rules forever"

Again, everyone vaccinated wont stop the transmission of covid. Surprised this still has to be echoed. Getting vaccinated doesnt stop you getting it lol sorry to go slightly off topic.

The vaccine doesn’t stop you contracting, carry or spreading the virus.

So unless there’s another vaccine which only you know about, then 100% vaccination would achieve bugger all.

See Gibraltar for examples - fully vaccinated population, cases soaring, Christmas “cancelled”.

It’s not going to magically end with 100% vaccination rates or with people losing their bodily autonomy by force “for the greater good”.

Get fucking real.

false, the vaccine greatly reduces the risk of getting covid and passing it off to others. It also helps it being less severe if you do get a breakthrough case.

Now there might be new variants that can break through the vaccine, but that is mostly caused by large portions of certain populations not being vaccinated

Okay, now explain Gibraltar.

Okay so you are using an anecdote here to try to prove your point. I just looked it up and it says they are getting about 66 new covid cases a day.

Like I said it greatly reduces it not completely stops it. i've always assume that in nature and society nothing is 100%

My theory would be that Gibraltar went completely back to normal with no caution, a new strain hit, be it Omicron or Delta and due to the fact everyone was acting normal due to the vaccines more people are catching it than they expected.

it seems like the government of the country is highly sensitive to the amount of cases and are shutting things down a bit excessively thus causing people to make it into a talking point.

Of course I am not a professional nor a scientist and I don't feel like i have any right to explain a country's whole epidemic without any real information.

Nor should you use it as a talking point to spread anti-vax ideas

curlacious

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.

I think we can all agree vaccines reduce the spread, but not so drastically that numbers will go down and stay low. We've had high numbers in the UK consistently despite an effective vaccination programme.

Gibraltar is not an “anecdote”, it’s the most vaccinated place on earth.

They were back in lockdown and had cancelled Christmas before omicron was even discovered.

66 covid cases per day, is around 2,000 covid cases per month… or 6% of their entire population.

That’s the equivalent of the UK getting 4 million cases a month, while at 100% vaccination rate.

If you think this ends if and when we hit 100%, you’re deluding yourself on a level that’s almost sad to witness.
