Of course I am not a professional nor a scientist and I don't feel like i have any right to explain a country's whole epidemic without any real information.

Nor should you use it as a talking point to spread anti-vax ideas

I’m literally double jabbed and booked in for my third.

Not wanting people to have medical treatments forced upon them against their will to please people like you who wrongly think that a 100% vaccination rate is some kind of silver bullet is not “an anti vax idea”, you fucking twat.

Gibraltar is not an “anecdote”, it’s the most vaccinated place on earth.

They were back in lockdown and had cancelled Christmas before omicron was even discovered.

66 covid cases per day, is around 2,000 covid cases per month… or 6% of their entire population.

That’s the equivalent of the UK getting 4 million cases a month, while at 100% vaccination rate.

If you think this ends if and when we hit 100%, you’re deluding yourself on a level that’s almost sad to witness.
If you think the Omicron Variant didn't exist long before it was discovered you are not as bright as you think you are.
How often do people just do a covid test and just stay at home?

no, I didn't say that it will end when we are 100% vaccinated, you are putting words in my mouth

If people are vaccinated and have taken subsequent boosters, ideally we can go back to what semblance of normal life we can.

The vaccine is a good thing, stop trying to make it seem like it's not for fucks sake

curlacious

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.

we are at 70% fully vaccinated according to https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/world/covid-vaccinations-tracker.html

it's not as effective as you'd think
According to UK data it's 81% of people aged 12 or over.

What we don't understand is what individuals are most responsible for the spread in the UK. Chances are those partially or unvaccinated are less likely to put themselves in risky situations. We also know most is spread among young people at the moment, and children. Ultimately, it's very hard to quantify the degree to which vaccines stop spread.

There are no confirmed cases of omicron in Gibraltar.

You can check this yourself in seconds.

Or alternatively, you can keep calling data you find inconvenient “anecdotes” and calling anyone who believes in bodily autonomy and informed consent “anti-vaxxers”, whatever makes you feel better about your totalitarian wet dreams.

Why are we insulting people that have a different opinion ?

Do you care more about people dying or do you care about people being "forced' into getting a jab then?

For someone who has the jab you are spewing out anti-vax talking points

This is life now unfortunately. It’ll never go back to normal, most clubs will get this over the next few months
Exactly, enough of the spursy nonsense...every club will have to deal with this at some point...fingers crossed for everyones well being and back to good health!

Are you asking me, or the guy who accused me of “spreading anti-vax ideas” for quoting facts he didn’t approve of?
But you are repeating right wing anti-vax talking points ?

I don't understand how that is comparable to calling me a twat.

ones personal and the other is an action that you are actively doing

100% vaccination rates won’t stop the virus.

For someone who has strong opinions on the epicness of vaccines you are spewing an unintelligible amount of bullshit about them.

Okay, now explain Gibraltar.
Simple. The UK rollout was well ahead of Spain's in Q1/early-Q2. Many commuters living in Spain but working in Gibraltar therefore took up the offer of a vaccine in Gibraltar (supplied by the UK programme). Didn't you you think the 105% vaccination rate seemed a bit high, even for people who liked vaccines?

I'll leave it here, I have zero interest in wasting my life dealing with anti-vax BS. If people can't realise that 3 billion vaccinated people haven't magically become infertile/dropped dead/whatever other nonsense anti-vaxxers predicted at the beginning of the roll-out, then they're beyond help and reason.

The most important piece of math is this: if you're unvaccinated, you're 5-6x more likely to end up in intensive care with covid than if you aren't (over a sample size of 100,000s in the UK/US). Go on: Explain that away.

Oh so now I’m not only an anti-vaxxer, but a right wing anti-vaxxer?

Imagine calling others right wingers when you’re literally out here begging for Boris Johnson to force medical treatments on people.

You sir, are one of the transparently thickest mother fuckers I have ever interacted with on here.

Good day to you.

It’s alright he’s calling me a Nazi now, too.

I don’t think “fucking twat” was nearly harsh enough, on reflection.

Regarding the situation at the club, it was bound to happen
100% vaccination rates won’t stop the virus.

For someone who has strong opinions on the epicness of vaccines you are spewing an unintelligible amount of bullshit about them.
Okay, lets say that it won't fully stop the virus (something I actually believe that it won't either)

but is it better to go around saying that it won't do anything?
Maybe influencing someone who hasn't had it to not get it, and maybe putting their life at risk?

We have been told by scientists (who I tend to believe) that it DOES reduce emission.
