How many member of COYS have we got on here? A year ago I was banned form the website for a few silly comments on my behalf. However I would like to try and get my account back and would like to know if anyone can vouch for me? I feel I have had good behaviour on this site and if i was to be reinstated at COYS I could never leave this forum as i enjoy it to much.

I wouldn't bother mate.
They are VERY touchy about any criticism - even implied - of all ITKers. In fact, the slightest infraction towards anyone else and you risk being banned for life.
Any decent ITK or other news gets picked up and passed on to here anyway.
I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
(And, yes, I was a member and was banned for life for having the temerity to question one of their ITKers).

interesting. I was banned for life because I made a thread about whether moving to australia was right for me because of some of the problems england were having in the economy and some of the illegal immigrants. They called me racist life ban.

I got banned for asking for advice about my new business from experienced businessmen. I was bumped off because I was "trying to promote my business". This is the better place IMHO.

I've never been on there, but i've met a few of their members (fnarr fnarr) and they seem sound enough in human form. It's the power of t'interwebb, gives people balls - trust me, you could go onto a crochet and needlecraft forum and find some chinless nerd telling someone he was going to f*ck their mum in an uncomfortable place...

Sorry - this confuses me a bit. You would never leave this forum if you were reinstated at COYS?? So why bother getting reinstated ? :shrug:

I actually negotiated a truce with one of their admins - angiespurs I think - after being pulled up for trying to persuade some guy not to join the army, in a thread he'd made for advice from fellow Spurs fans about his pending career choice. Can't really remember what happened in more detail, but I remember thinking they were absurdly over the top with their modding, far too dimly aware that they were practicing political censorship, and too ready to waste my time. My membership was culled through inactivity.

Here has every advantage apart from numbers IMO, though perhaps that's just because people don't start threads as readily or opportunely. On COYS it's like every time an interesting enough thought occurs, it's thinker makes a thread of it, so there's always already somewhere to discuss it when the same topical thing pops into your head later.

I wouldn't join there again if I was payed a small fortune.

I joined, I made a few posts, although for the first few weeks tried to keep it reasonably quiet rather than going full in.

They banned me for not posting enough, yet when I pointed out that there were many female members who posted less, they couldn't say anything back.

Quite sexist, but if thats how the place is ran, I'd rather not be part of it.

I could be much harsher, about how I interpret those actions made, but I'd only come across as a bitter fucker, where as I'd just rather not bother.

COYS = waste of time.

Not a scratch on this place.

I was a member but posted some shit about the deaths of a war being more, or just as important Jade Goody's death, and should be remembered just the same, or something like that. Outrageous I know. Banned for 3 months. Then likened them to a bunch Nazis (due to their extreme censorship which just impeded the discussion. Over the top I know), and got banned for life with the threat of court action. Happy days. But they are ****s. Mistayid was OK for a mod though. The Prof is one gay Fuck.
Admittedly I did like the format at first; that was until I discovered today's post on here, under the quick link bar. Then I realised it was just a lazy mess with delusions of grandeur.
