Yep. It'll be interesting to see how Prior and Swann get on in the morning. Usually in these circumstances, we'd lose a wicket early on and the tail would add maybe another 20-odd runs meaning we are just a shade over 200 ahead. If these two can add another 40 or 50 before the real tail gets exposed it could make a big difference.

If England can post a lead of 250+, I think it will result in an England victory. I would back england to chase anything up to 250 personally. The pitch isn't going to deterioate and with India being very tired in the field, It will difficult for them to get anything 400 or above.

However, India haven't been great for me. The worst part for me is the fielding, Some of the fielding i have seen is unacceptable from an International side and Sehwag seems to be the main culpurit. It really isn't good enough and if i was an Indian fan, i would be incensed at the players for the lack of effort in the field.

Well that didn't last long did it? Poor decision from the Umpire on Monty's LBW but that wouldn't have made much difference, I don't know why the powers that be don't force India to use DRS. Now it's our bowlers turn. Come on boys!

122-6 now - all out today? Are we looking at an innings defeat for India?

Theyve just had tea,India have just got two boundaries in the first over perhaps they are going for it.

Well another one down for India Kohli the last recognised batsman is out. India are in dire straits now, this will be (if England win the series) the first time since 2004 that India have lost at home!. Surely that cant be true?.

We should have been. Ashwin has batted really well.

Sounds like he has - not sure why he's so far down the order. A few dropped catches haven't helped us either.

India are now 222-9 so unless there's some bizarre miracle for the Indians, with any luck we'll have the match and a 10 wicket victory in the bag at some point tomorrow.

Nice.

Why do we make it hard for ourselves?, 3 out for 8 runs!. For goodness sake talk about a wobble they only had to get 41. Anyway well done to the lads and hope we grab the series.

hehe, we always seem to don't we?

Cook was out charging down the wicket, something you'd not usually see him do, well, at least not at the start of an innings......I think they wanted to get it finished quickly in a blaze of runs but if the target had been much larger I think we'd have seen a much more circumspect approach.

Can't wait for the next test. It'd be nice if we can manage to finish the job and win the series. I wonder what sort of wicket we'll get? Under usual circumstances I reckon they'd prepare a raging turner but Monty and Swann have outbowled their spinners...........I'm not sure what other options they have though.

This really shows the difference between cricket and football. This is a reasoned, mature post and you didn't mention your cock once!

Have to say I'm loving the cricket at the moment, got up at 3:30 today and yesterday. Not worries about the wickets this morning - Cook's was silly, Trott is so focussed he'll be fine and KP is just brilliant. If anything its nice to see Compton show he can stick it out again and for Bell to get some important, pressure runs.

Yeah I've been up early for the last few tests. Really enjoyed watching the cricket - the innings from cook was superb. Also good to see KP in the runs. Hope for another good, clinical team performance in the final test - and as A&C says, it will be interesting to see what type of wicket is prepared.

They can't afford a flat track as they need the victory, and so far England have outbowled India in every department.

Well we can't step off the pedal just yet, we have another match to go and we need to be as focussed and determined as ever. I thought bell played nicely for his 28 and compton looked solid. Not really worried about the 3 wickets (although i was a little nervous at 8-3!) and it can be seen as a bit of a blessing in disguise as this wil give some confidence to bell and he got some time in the middle he needed.

They will prepare a raging bunsen no doubt about it. They've already added another leg spinner to their squad for the test. The coin toss will be very important, I cant think you would want to be batting last on the pitch we will see.

Played very well for his first innings, good stuff from the young batsman. This could be a good test for england and an intresting match.

I'll be doing that for the 4th day but dividing my attention between the cricket and the khan fight until the boxing ends.
