Imagine if Yugoslavia never broke up. They'd be able to field a ridiculously good team.

If that's the case my bad. But he should never have been the last taker then.
I’m genuinely not sure, but I feel fairly confident that it’s a case of you hand in a sheet of your order of PK takers to officials and that’s it set in stone from that point forward. Definitely agree, you should have your best take the first one to set the tone and relieve pressure from the team, Jurgen Klinsmann said as much after the game too

I just cannot understand how a team has the balls to manage that again and again. Incredible perseverance.

??????????????????????????????. Brazilian players now have plenty of time to perfect their dance routine for the next world cup so that they can fold at the first decent team they face.

Top 5 midfielder of all time for me.
Top 1 mate. Xavi and Iniesta have no argument left. They were eating Nusr-Et salt bae steak in Qatar at this age. Modric pulling 120 minute MOTM performances against Brazil.

Levels.

Zidane and Matthaus have arguments I suppose. But Modric best midfielder of this era hands down.

Given Gvardiol has a release clause he will be getting some absolutely insane offers. £400k a week plus I reckon, maybe topping half a mill a week. Must be in the top handful of most desirable players on the planet.

Can’t speak for Matthaus but I personally think Modric’s better than Zidane.

What a player Modric is. Seems to get better as well as he gets older. Brazil were poor today partly down to a well drilled and organised Croatian team. No idea where Neymar was in the penalties but he should have taken their first imo.

Is and will remain my most favourite footballer ever. The things he does, at the level he's been at since he was with us is outrageous

Dalic is a exceptional manager, really plays to his nations strengths, not many better midfield in football that modric, kovacic, brozavic

Yeah agree and they play pragmatically and it isnt boring but he is missing a striker with a bit of pace and that is a solid team.

Would be good to see how he does in club football. Not sure if it translates but getting to two world cup semis given only 4m in Croatia is such a great achievement.

On paper. The problem Yugoslavia always had was that the players from all the regions hated each other. They always had strong teams on paper but couldn't play together. Doubt it would be much different now tbh.

Ive got a family full of Brazilians and yes, they’re pretty arrogant. Going to be a lot of long faces at our watch party tomorrow. I’ll tip back a pint or 4 and congratulate them on being the most successful country of all time…just not this year. I’m sure that will make them feel better ?

It's a myth. There is no order given to the ref.
Occurs to me that I’ve never considered how the process works. I think I thought they just point at the guy that’s least visibly shaking.
