Hull have agreed a deal for Dundee Utd left back Andrew Robertson. Top prospect and if I were a betting man I'd say it'll end Hull's interest in Rose

It looks increasingly likely that we might need to break the Harry Redknapp 'in case of emergency' glass!

Hope he stays and fights for his place.

I don't think having no competition for his place helped. He was arguably our best player 2nd half. Saying that, I'm not convinced LB is his best position. His crossing is not up to PL standard

He was better in the first half before his injury. When he went down, our team looked incredibly disjointed. When he returned, he just wasn't very good.

If I'm gonna make allowances for about 15 other players to improve under Pochettino I'd feel hypocritical not to do same with Rose. It's not like Davies can play 60 games this season and tbh I'm not that against Rose filling in if as said improves a bit. There's nowhere near enough evidence that a) Rose won't be willing to fight for place or b) Fryers is a more able backup and capable of potentially playing 20 games.

Ok so we swoop in for this kid at 2mil to fight it out with davies/provide cover and then sell rose to Hull for 5mil, perfect lol

Selling Rose and replacing him with a guy like Bastian Oczipka would be fantastic business even if the money involved turned out to be a wash. Oczipka can obviously play LB but I also think he could push up a bit further on some occasions and play as a more defensive minded LM option to see out matches by doubling up on the left with Davies.

if avb had gotten his way then ade would've been sent out on loan as well, yet we all know he's still our best striker. just because he succeeded in shipping benny out doesn't mean he should be written off. 4/5 years of great service isn't erased by half a season of injuries and another half of trying to regain form/fitness. i watched benny closely for camerron and he still looked decent to me, if he was to stay i wouldn't say it's unthinkable that he ends up 1st choice again.

4/5 years of great service? dear oh dear, more like 4/5 years of being an accident waiting to happen and often happening. Apart from missing a lot of early playing time from injury Benny has to be up there with a succession of awful left backs we somehow have seemed to accumulate.

I know people have different opinions and I'm not suggesting he hasn't had the odd excellent game but during his time here for the most part he has been a very weak full back with no real defensive game and a very hot and cold offensive game, even despite the fact that unlike most of his poor predecessors for quite a bit of time he had a left winger ahead of him to provide some cover and take some of the attacking burden.

Personally I was so glad to see the back of him, though granted that pleasure was rather muted when we failed to get a quality LB to replace him and had to rely on Danny Rose. How any club with any serious ambition can have successive players like that in a key position is beyond me, although to be fair only following on from a long line of equally poor left backs prior to it

I guess if we look at the likes of Gilberto, Atouba and Tramezzani it's easy to argue that there have been worse, but dear oh dear the standards have been so low you have to wonder if the selection of these left backs were all made by our old left back scout or the labrador he has to take everywhere with him

This isn't a Popular opinion but I really hope Rose stays. Him and Davies give us a nice blend at left back. The whole idea of getting Pocchettino in was to get him to improve our existing squad, it would be really interesting to see what Rose could get from that. I've seen him have good games for Spurs It's not as though he isn't capable.

If we do sell Rose I think we'll end up using Fryers as cover with Naughton an option too, that worries me a lot, no offence to those players but I much prefer Rose.

Him and Andros.....for me

put in a good one for Harry Cane mind........Danny's problem is lack of concentration and competition and he's still acts like a kid at times.

If fit he played....not good, now he will have to look over his shoulder.

Sunderland in for Van Aanholt as well, the Chelsea left back. Not sure how many LBs they have but could possibly affect their interest in Rose.

Does anyone think Rodgers might have a dabble? Can't get enough of British players can he?

I was happy to give Rose a chance last summer, and he started off well, but after his injury he was completely off the boil and I think he has a real motivation problem. Sherwood being clearly a temporary appointment certainly did not help.

When he was on loan at Peterborough and Bristol City there were comments on his attitude, that he didn't really care because he was a Premier League player and didn't feel he need to prove himself. It's a bit of a English league problem (not just English players), in that they get poached as a teenager, offered big money while still being unproven, then they 'cruise' along thinking it will just happen for them. What with Rose being English, young, left footed, and a left back, which is a very, very rare breed, it's come a little easier for him than most. If he stayed as a CM, as he originally was when 15, then he would have faced a lot fiercer competition and probably would have been on a par with Dean Parratt (which unfortunately did not work out well for Dean).

He'll go to a middle to bottom PL team, earn £30k a week and not have a problem with what anyone thinks because he has made it. Rather than thinking he should be playing for a CL team, he'll be happy if his wages improve each time he signs a new contract.

Ultimately, he's not going to improve without games, and he's not going to get games because Davies is far more reliable as a full back. We should be able to get a decent offer for him, and I'd take it.
