We could comfortably go to 60% of revenue in my view.
Based on absolutely fuck all.
We could comfortably go to 60% of revenue in my view.
Actually based on Arsenal's revenue from the Emirates with a similar capacity to what we will have. Perhaps do some homework!Based on absolutely fuck all.
Of course I don't mean those three but we should compete with wages West Ham and Everton are prepared to pay... we use something like 48% of turnover on wages but Arsenal use 55% Liverpool 69% and Chelsea 67%.... From next season to we will also increase revenue by about £50 million a year because of increased capacity in the new stadium. We could comfortably go to 60% of revenue in my view.
Exactly this. It's a myth we skimp on wages. We just pay them in accordance with our turnover. Clubs like Everton & West Ham have odd players on 100k plus. Our salaries are relatively even across the first team.Overall we pay more wages than Everton and West Ham mate - we have the 6th largest wage bill.
Next season I agree our wages should and probably will go up. This will be in line with the fact our revenues will increase.
As for increasing our wages as a percentage of our turnover. That's never gonna happen under Levy who wants to run the club debt free and sensibily.

I'm not sure that turnover to wages signifies much tbh, pretty sure that City and United both operate at around 50% as well.Of course I don't mean those three but we should compete with wages West Ham and Everton are prepared to pay... we use something like 48% of turnover on wages but Arsenal use 55% Liverpool 69% and Chelsea 67%.... The problem is the spammers only a one or two top players we have what 8, 9, 10, ?You are correct but I was referring to wages West Ham and Everton will pay top earners.
With regard to sensible spending from Levy I would argue for sensible but adventurous investment i.e. tempting contracts especially in young talent which might mean getting a Lemar or Dembele before they go to Monaco or Dortmund and quadruple in value. I know we came good on Alli and Dier and we should be doing much more of this even if we loan some out and some don't come off.
This is it, their first choice goalkeeper last season was on £6.5kpw, whilst they had younger players earning £3.5kpw, that's why they push the boat out on one or two high earners...our lowest earners are on circa £20kpw, it's a much more level approach. The problem is the spammers only a one or two top players we have what 8, 9, 10, ?
I take it maths and accounting is not your strong suit?Of course I don't mean those three but we should compete with wages West Ham and Everton are prepared to pay... we use something like 48% of turnover on wages but Arsenal use 55% Liverpool 69% and Chelsea 67%.... 60% brings us close to Liverpool and possblly Arsenal and means players like Mane would be attainable for usI'm not sure that turnover to wages signifies much tbh, pretty sure that City and United both operate at around 50% as well.
Regardless even if it were raised to around 60% as u suggest, 20% wage rises all round isn't going to change he fact that the uber clubs can still offer double what we pay our best players.
Exquisite.......simply exquisite.Instead of 'who the fucking hell are you', 'Danny Rose is googling you'
No they wouldn't...60% of our revenue isn't the same as 60% of Arsenal and Liverpools revenue mate,60% brings us close to Liverpool and possblly Arsenal and means players like Mane would be attainable for us

Exactly the point I made a few posts back, but this site is like the Dianne Abbot school of economics sometimes. You guys do realise that as soon as we're able to pay higher wages, the richer clubs will just go higher until we're unable to compete again.
Can't help but compare the situation to Marx's eventual theory of one corporation owning everything - i.e. as time goes on, the rich will get richer and open up the divide on smaller clubs. You guys do realise that as soon as we're able to pay higher wages, the richer clubs will just go higher until we're unable to compete again.
