'Danny Rose would consider joining Chelsea or Manchester United before the transfer deadline if Tottenham are prepared to let him go'

I didn't realise there was a Chelsea up North?

To even get to the situation where players at West Ham, Everton and other lesser teams are getting paid more than ours it was always going to end in tears.
I'm flabbergasted why anyone is surprised.
We all hoped that with this amazing team we've got that the club would start paying them top wages and go on and even improve.
We haven't/won't.
So depressing. Walker gone, Rose going, unrest in the changing room.
Make no mistake, Walker was just the beginning. The biggest mistake we could of made was selling him to Man City.
Walker went for the wages.
Rose wants to go for the money.
Players know that all they have to do is kick up and another club is going to double/treble their wages.
We will not be able to keep hold of our best players from now on and the players know it.
Then on top of all that we don't sign even one player in the summer showing a complete lack of ambition.
Depressing times.

For the record I don't buy all this 'missing the north' stuff either. It takes two hours to get from London to Leeds, it's hardly a transatlantic trip for crying out loud.
York is a great city, though. If it's only about geography, maybe he can sign for City? I mean York City FC?

It's not like the press have just taken a couple of sentences out of context and twist it like they usually do. He's given them a small books worth of stuff. All that extra shit about Wembley and even Barkley (which was positive I guess) there's just no need. Proper SC rant he's given the ****.

Actually gutted. I had some proper rants on here about Walker but I accepted in the end as it was clear that we played a big part in allowing him to leave which ultimately I'm ok with as Poch is the man but this shit with Rose hurts.

Yes they have. Can someone point me to his full interview? I've looked at the Sun article and can only see a few quotes there, and some which are being noted elsewhere don't appear in the sun article. For example the Skysports title states he would consider a move to chelsea utd yet I can only see him saying he would love to play up north at some point in the future.

I think people are overreacting and the media have ceased on this as a headline grabber. He is just sharing an opinion, and I think it may act as a wakeup call to Levy. Either step up or risk losing players. Maybe he shouldn't say those things, but I don't see a massive issue with him doing it. I also can't find the quotes about Walker specifically, which have also been ceased upon.

Pretty funny. On our (Spurs) twitter account there has been a countdown to the game against Newcastle. It started with "7 days to go". Then it went to 6,5,4 and then...2. The thing is, with 5 and 4 they used Vertonghens and Alderweirelds shirt numbers. Go to the Spurs twitter and you will see it. :p haha

When is the pre match press conference? It'll be interesting to see if Poch calms the masses or fans the flames even more.

Just came to see there has been a 60 page meltdown here. Not sure if anyone has suggested this, but since Rose is "Poch's son", is there any chance he did this with Poch's blessing to put pressure on Levy?

Considering he made this comment...

“As a starting 11 we have one of the best in the league, without a shadow of a doubt, but after that . . .

no, this wasn't doing a favour for Poch.

This is a player slating his teammates, no way Poch gives the ok for Rose to speak ill of anyone in the boot room to the media.

This is Rose's doing all on his own.

This!

And if you don't agree. Please stop looking through rose tinted glasses.
I love THFC as much as the next man. But I'm also realistic and angry and frustrated about how DL doesn't now want to kick on to the next level. Player wise, facilities wise and the current financial times wise. There is no better time.
I do not believe we can't afford it nor do I believe that he is stopping us from going bust.
I can only think he's preparing to sell at some point in the next few years and thinking of the extra profit

Seeing as he is injured at the moment Rose should be in limbo.

Not sure a club will pay good money for an injured player.

imo he can go, we have done well without him this calendar year .

Maybe just maybe we may replace both FBs this Summer .....ever the optimist me !

BD not the same level. Who replaces BD when he picks up injury?

The guy who's just signed a new contract, although out on loan. Ogilvie. Or KWP who can apparently play both sides. Which he'll need to do at the same time, the way things are going.

I agree. Pochettino is working his own agenda well enough this summer, without the "help" of a kiddo who seems to be useless at scheming with the media.

I wonder if we'll look to go back in for Sessegnon although considering our penchant for letting players go without adequate replacements then who knows.

This requires a resolute response from the club - and sharpish!

It's not the same. He's missing his dear old mum, cos he can't pop around the corner for a cup of tea and a chat, like in the old days. However, another 50k a week can help to push it out of his mind.

Id be more pissed off losing Rose than walker, but he seems to have that same attitude. Couple good signings and we ready to go again but we risk losing another first team player.
Ive been pretty relaxed this transfer window, even after selling Walker and not signing anyone, but now I'm getting a bit nervous it's going to start affecting our players.
I love levy think he's a great chairman, but if he REALLY wants to win a league title or a least compete with the top clubs consistently, we need to pay a realistic wage to keep the players happy and make the signings needed to push on.

Whatever. Petty from the club. Shows they really dont give a shit. Fans like it though since Rose apparently ripped them(he spoke the truth, btw). But Rose nailed it on every thing he said. Cant hate a man for being honest and truthful.

It must be horrible when you are trying to be professional and someone says something unproductive only for some **** with too much spare time add the quotes to a picture.

Yeah, I know it's an old team pic but God only knows what our squad will look like by the time we take the pic for this season.
