If we complete the Ross Barkley deal I'm looking forward to The Sun's 25 page pull out with Danny saluting our ambition.

This would make more sense if we hadn't just have had a massive shambles on the RB front. Had Pereira (or AN Other) came in shortly after Walker left and was looking mustard then this would make more sense.

Shaw and cash for Rose would certainly get me thinking, but in the end it is giving Rose what he wants, and that's not a good precedent to set going forward. Down to Poch and Levy now, but I hope they are aware of all the implications of any potential deal. Blatantly obvious this is a reaction to Walker getting his move...

Shaw and Martial then bye bye Rose.

I'm probably going to be shot down in flames, but I actually think what Rose has done is spot on.
He is only saying what everyone already knows, certainly amongst the supporter base and inside the club. Surely everybody is sick of losing our best players and seeing the club buy players we have to Google - I know I have been for years.
Levy has gotten away with it for far too long and its about time that someone actually called him out on it.
Now is time for Levy to pay up or p**s off.
As supporters, we pay some of the most expensive prices for tickets and merchandise, yet get sub standard product in return, with constant promises about the future. This has been the case for 30 years!
I want trophies. I don't want our best players always leaving. I want them paid what they deserve, at market rate, to then stay and win. So does Rose - is that so bad?
What about the ridiculous waste of money on players like Sissoko last year? £30m? Beyond laughable. For every Alli or Dier, there are a catalogue of N'Jie's or Sissoko's. Its always the same old tosh. Levy will never likely change and should go, but at least if more people start calling him out publicly, something might improve.
We should all be sick of it and roundly applaud Rose for speaking out and telling Levy exactly what he thinks.
Even if no-one else does, I salute you Mr Rose!
Why sign such a long term deal if after 8 months of not playing you are suddenly "worth" so much more?

Either he's an idiot, his agent is shit, or DL has got a confundus charm on his little bald head.

Obviously because he's been offered a lot more by other clubs and wants to get it. Spurs are stopping him leaving so he's trying this to make himself persona non grata and get out of the club.

Could be all three.

I'm not going to go very far in defending Rose, but this "he signed a contract" line is useless. Anybody, any single one of you, would have signed a contract improvement at any job, even if you thought the new contract didn't quite reflect your true worth.

We were flying, Vorm could've played left back and we'd have been winning games. Davies is a completely fine left back but Rose is one of the best in Europe.

I can just about handle the we'll be fine Trippier will step up but a Trippier/Davies full back combo is a monumental step down and in my opinion with Wembley factor too completely ends any chance of winning anything.
You do know Davies is now on the phone to the Sun claiming you've dissed him and he wants to go back to Wales before he retires? Thanks a fucking bunch.

Our wages to turnover ratio (accidental Sherwood) is just over 50% which is regarded as healthy. The other top clubs (bar Chelsea at 68%) operate at roughly the same. So when people argue that we can afford more without it being a problem, what do they see that some of us don't? Genuinely asking.

Wage to turnover ratios:
Liverpool 69%
Chelsea: 67%
Arsenal: 55%
Man City 51%
Tottenham 48%
Man U 45%

True.

Only difference is we wouldn't have then gone sick for a whole year and thought 'fuck this, I'm worth so much more now I'm nearly healthy again, lets slag these ****s off so they have to sack me and I can get what I am truly worth.'
