Aye, but the winnings are £660.
You all got it wrong anyway.
The guy said a tenner EACH WAY.
So if Bent did top the scoring chart then he would actually make a profit of £825 (or £845 with his stake included).
You fella's were quick to take the piss but then gave the wrong answer.
Speaking of which, can someone explain an each way bet to me, cause I've never been told.
But surely that'd be a "£20 hit". A "£10 hit" would surely be a fiver each way, meaning you'd win half of that? :wink:You all got it wrong anyway.

at those odds what would be the winnings for a £10 hit?
Good time to get in on an each-way. If Ronaldo, Adebayor and Drogba bugger off those odds will drop a fair bit.
Is anyone offering odds for top English goalscorer?
This thread is lol.
There is a reason why Bent is 66/1.

An each way bet is just a bet consisting of 2 seperate bets. One to win and one to place.
The win part is obviously straight forward and the selection must win for the bet to be successful.
The place part will depend on what type of market you are betting on. Generally you will be getting either 1/4 or 1/5 of the win odds for your selection to be anything from 2nd to possibly 7th depending on the market.
In the Top Goalscorer market you would most likely be getting 1/4 the odds 1st to 4th place. So, if Darren Bent did come 3rd then you would get 1/4 of 66/1 for your place bet which equals 16.5/1.
Hope that helps.
Who ever said Bent is 66/1 for a reason is right. The reason is / reasons are . .
1) He's looked absolute shit in games for both club and country since he came to us.
2) Darren Bent scored a big bag full of goals in a poor Charlton team because they used to lump the ball foward to him at any given chance in a boring long ball 4-5-1.
Even if we did play Bent as the 1 up front in a 4-2-3-1 like someone suggested the 3 behind him would most likely be Dos Santos Modric and Lennon. This would mean having three players who all like to 'keep ball' and play to feet. Making us an even more anti-long ball team than we already are. 66/1 sounds pretty shite to me. Would rather take Bobby Zomora at fulham at 100/1!........
I simply mentioned two facts which would have countered your statements. Its tough if you feel your intelligence has been questioned, but you have to be big enough to accept criticism / corrections etc. This does happen when you write on a public forum. Deal with it.I think theres a huge difference in saying someone 'Has looked shit' and 'Is shit'. Nor was i denying that he scored goals against the big guns in the EPL. All i am saying is that if you wanted to pick a striker who least fits our style of play it would be Bent. I dont see how you can disagree. We are not a long ball team, Charlton are / were. And as for your first point i think you were trying to just fill space in your post as that does not apply to anything im saying. And dont question my intelligence when it comes to spurs.
