So all the links for veltman earlier in the window were a smokescreen for this guy then in the end?
Great shout. No idea if that was the case or if in the course of scouting veltman we changed targets, but either way, the appearance may suggest a bit of under cover scouting.

And our links to Veltman feel like ages ago.

To slow our roll a little bit just in case Di Marzio is claiming Spurs have not officially received a response from Ajax for our latest bid.

Seems to imply their acceptance is likely and could come tomorrow.

(Note both an agreed fee and not a formally acceptesd bid can be true at once but I don't want us all to wake expecting an announcement first thing when that might not happen until later or the next day)

More click bait. Nothing suggests that an agreement hasn't been reached, just that our formal bid has not been formally accepted yet. We don't know when it was sent over but a non-response now means nothing. It's almost midnight in London. They will respond formally tomorrow morning.

Well, I'd say he has pretty similar attributes to Vertonghen, who can also play LB (although he doesn't really want to).

I believe Toby may have also been used at RB in his career. Dier too, obviously.

There seems to be a pattern of us going for these type of guys, and I think it's a sensible pattern.

Imagine a tough away game, and we have:

Sanchez Alder Dier Verts

As our back four. That's pretty dam impressive and feckin powerful!
Thats true! Toby plays rb for belgium

The main journo in Holland covering the story has confirmed we've reached an agreement. About €45m - €35m + €10m in bonuses:

Mike Verweij‏@MikeVerweij
AFGEROND: #Ajax en @SpursOfficial bereiken na #ajaros definitief akkoord over @daosanchez26 ... Rvc stemt in met +\- 45 miljoen euro (35+10)

Completed: reach @ajaros final agreement on #Ajax and #SpursOfficial after @daosanchez26... Supervisory Board approves + \-45 million euro (35 + 10)

Despite all the positivity, which is great by the way, I won't pretend to know anything about this fella before we were linked. I literally never heard of him, and I play shit loads of Fifa, Football Manager and keep track of other leagues.

I'm excited because other people are, but I simply cannot be confident until he plays in Lilly White and he plays well.

For all of who are wondering this is why he did that ridiculous jig

And I say fair play to that if he can consistently score goals like that he can celebrate anyway he wants to

I like players who celebrate with their team. I hate the likes of Sturridge that cannot wait to dance on their own and don't instinctively run to their team mates.
