I'm not basing in one game, I watched every game Ajax played in the EL. I even watched him play for Colombia. I don't pretend for you to agree with me. But I've got no bias, and I'm giving my opinion based on watching him several times. In fact, I wrote this same opinion in the EL thread, before the game against Man U

2. Levy has flown to Amsterdam today to start talks and hopes to get the deal done by the end of the weekend

3. We're interested but haven't begun any type of talks

I haven't seen enough of this kid or De Ligt to do a proper comparison... however I do seem to remember that when we were linked to Eriksen, there were a few loud voices adamant on here that we should sign Ajax's 17 year old wonderkid Viktor Fischer instead based on a handful of performances... Now Eriksen is world-class and Fischer struggled to break into a dire Middlesbrough team. Not sure what my point is, other than people sometimes have a tendency to overrate players who break through very young. There are an awful lot of steps between having a few hot performances at 17 and doing it week in week out while raising your game every year, and many don't make that jump the way fans hope or expect.

Seems to me that number 3 may be what the club is spreading in an attempt to hold off any potential gazumping, number 2 is possible, and number 1 is probably an exaggeration of "player finds terms generally agreeable, clubs agree on an approximate fee with terms to be hammered out".

I'll preface this by saying that I've never seen Sanchez play myself, but a United fan described him to me as a 'poor mans Bailly who is clumsy and atrocious on the ball.'

He also thinks de Ligt is a better player now and has a much higher ceiling as well and was surprised that we would go for Sanchez over de Ligt. So ossie isn't the only one to think like that.

As I said, I haven't seen him so I hope all that is rubbish and he's the Colombian King.

Yeah I thought he was awful in that game. Harsh to rate him on one appearance but he looked awkward and constantly gave the ball back to Utd

Isn't this just standard tactics though? I'm not disputing what you say but doesn't this happen all the time? All players have strengths and weaknesses it's how you fit them into your team.

With out walker now our right hand side does seem quite lacking in pace. Maybe poch sees him and trippier complimenting each other? No idea just speculating.
