That is one tasty team that if keep fit could go all the way this season and with a squad of
Vorm Kwp Ccv Dier Davies Winks Barkley Lamela son Jansen
It won't be popular, but I would imagine Dier fits into the first team somewhere - probably in place of Wanyama.

No chance
We will see. But I would not bet against Dier - who has started 133 matches for Spurs over the last 3 years, and who we have turned down a £50M sale for - he is an important member of the squad and will start the majority of matches this season.

You play your best players.
I don't disagree - and my preference is for Wanyama at DM.

But "best" is subjective, and while they each play the position differently, they were both effective in their own ways.

I am just trying to take a step back and look at things objectively - and given that Dier wants to play CM, and given that we have refused to sell him for an enormous fee, and that Poch has trusted him to start 133 matches in 3 seasons - that leads to the conclusion that Dier will be playing a lot - probably the majority of matches.

Because if we passed up £50M for a "squad" player, then we are not making the best moves for this team...

It will be interesting to see what Poch does, but let's just hope for all our sakes he can keep both players very happy.

Dávinson Sánchez is very close to reaching Tottenham

Dávinson Sánchez is very close to reaching Tottenham

The defender did not play or stand on the bench in the Ajax defeat to Heracles in the Dutch League. The negotiation between the teams has advanced in the last hours.

As.com 14 August 2017 09:30 COT
Dávinson Sánchez is very close to reaching English football. The Colombian central defender has asked Dutch Ajax president Hennie Henrichs to allow him to change teams in the season that has just begun.

(I.e.
Sánchez hopes that the transfer to Tottenham of England will be in the next few hours and although the negotiation would be very advanced, for now it stops the amount requested by the Dutch team for the player that is 46 million euros as the Spurs are willing To be paid 35.

(I.e.
The player, who at 21 years of age already has a Copa Libertadores and a subtitle of Europa League, was neither in the bench of substitute in the beginning of the League of Holland in which his team was defeated 2 to 1 by the Hercules.

Last season, the Colombian played 44 games between the Europa League and the Dutch League, scored six goals that made him consolidate in his team and be called to the Colombia Team.

Footballers eh?

Dier: rose is right you know, we need more depth

Poch: I'm glad you think so, he's a carbon copy of you, but quicker

Dier: I'm guaranteed to start though right?

I'm joking obviously, but the depth they really mean is for them, not to potentially replace then

He will get games but since Wanyama has joined dier has never played instead of him Wanyama and so should be is a poch favourite so he has more chance of fighting against Sanchez

Just praying that this thread isn't in vain. Whats the longest player thread that we didn't get?
IIRC there's a 200 page limit and then it rolls over into a new thread, and we've had more than a couple go deep into the second thread (Soldado, Moutinho, maybe Vertonghen)

We have had some itk that Dier wants to be a midfielder, so looks like its time to step it up and beat out Wanyama. Although the idea of Dier-Dembele-Wanyama crushing opposing midfields like Genghis Khan razing a Kazakh village has me quite erect (y)

Not sure he will go straight in the team.
Poch will let him acclimatise to his new settings etc.
Could be wrong though.

Poch M.O. is to let young international signings work their way into the squad slowly, that'd be my guess here.
Dier is probably the exception and that day vs. West Ham we were very thin which forced his hand. Similar to the injuries which let Alli in. Otherwise Poch is cautious to throw players in.

Hmm looks like you're right, the Soldado one did that but hasn't happened since, so either rob did that one manually or the site has been upgraded since.

Either way, Schneiderlin has the record as far back as I looked at 333 pages... can't see any player matching that this window!

Might use dier and wanyama in the worlds most beastly cdm pairing. I think he will rotate as dembele isn't reliable and there will be plenty of game time. Sanchez Toby and verts back 3.
