We will see. But I would not bet against Dier - who has started 133 matches for Spurs over the last 3 years, and who we have turned down a £50M sale for - he is an important member of the squad and will start the majority of matches this season.
The way I also see it is this

Dier is very versatile and consistent in all of the positions he plays and for that it allows formations changes on the sheets before the match and whilst the match is going on. Earlier on the Rose thread someone said sell him and on this one mentioned a bid for dier we have rejected. Now to me it is absolutely vital that we sell no one else that we consider 1st 11 quality.
1) sends out the message that we are a selling club
2) breaks up the team on the cusp is something very special.
3) shows we have a lack of ambition
4) makes the other players start looking around
5) certainly in the case of Rose and the reaction from other players - squeal to the press and you'll get a move

All Of these would destroy us.

Dier is a key part of what makes the squad great. Do not sell for any price

Is this the bit where we start tweeting the club ANNOUNCE SÁNCHEZ!!!!!!!!! with some amusing pictorial depictions of waiting?

Should we draw up a rota?

My wife runs abramovich's box (box 10) on match days. She's been telling me for a while all is not well between him & conte. The league win papered over the cracks in a frosty relationship.

Expect your wife to be sacked once someone posts this on twitter.

Sanchez won't be being brought to come straight into the XI, he'll be used as a back up/rotation player and is being brought as a future star for when Jan's star starts to wane

He will still get plenty of game time provided we have good cup runs

If we get 20m for Wimmer and replace him with Sanchez for 30-35m the that's good business in my book

A delegation of the English top club Tottenham Hotspur is in the Netherlands to quickly round the sale of Ajacied Davinson Sánchez. There are also several case observers from the Colombian defender in Amsterdam to speed up the transfer.

Honestly cannot see him wanting to come if he's going to sit a bench, he would have gone to Barca if that was the case. Seems to me that if he comes he'll be coming in to the back 3.

I think Dier along with Rose will be phased out over the next year. I think it is clear that both have shown a lack of commitment to the cause and Poch, noting their change in behavior, is aware that they can't be counted on to toe the party line over the long term. I expect his arrival will knock Dier down a peg over the next 6 months.

I'll get some stick on here for saying this but Dier at CB isn't at the same level as Sanchez is---Dier does an admirable job but I think much more effective and comfortable as a CM these days. Has lapses in concentration that hurts in the backline but not in the midfield---Sanchez, in my opinion would quickly become a starter when we play a back 3 and have chances throughout our 60+ games to start. He won't be on the bench as long as he comes in, settles and performs well in practice---just my opinion. He's instantly a top 3 CB for us and would fit quite nicely in the middle of Jan & Toby in a back 3.

Very nice of you to join us, Poch.
Best ITK I have ever read. You really know it all.
