Tottenham transfer target Davinson Sanchez tells Ajax he wants Premier League move

Exclusive: Davinson Sanchez told Ajax personally on Monday that he wants to join Spurs

Davinson Sanchez has told Ajax that he wants to be allowed to leave the club and join Tottenham before the end of the transfer window, The Independent can reveal.

The Colombian defender, who turned down a move to Barcelona last summer because he feared he wouldn't get the first-team football he wanted to continue progressing, is a top target for Spurs as Mauricio Pochettino works on three deals.

Sanchez enjoyed a stellar first campaign in European football as Ajax reached the Europa League final, and the club's sporting director Marc Overmars tried to tie him down to a new deal by offering him a contract that would have doubled his salary.

But the 21-year-old central defender has already had his head turned by Tottenham and, on Monday, communicated his desire to leave the club to senior Ajax staff. An offer in the region of £28m is expected in the coming hours, though Ajax are thought to be holding out for closer to £35m.

Journalists are so funny. Goes from a story being that we have offered €11m less than they want to "we might offer soon".

Just watched a video clip on sky sports transfer centre live and wow, think he might push harry kane for his place with that kind of finishing lol.
Looks like a player that can play anywhere without looking uncomfortable, seems to have good pace, strong, great in the air and can tackle.
Seems like a mixture of Toby kane dembele rolled into one.

There are always those pieces of "how a transfer works"----I'm pretty sure offers don't actually going in until negotiations are nearing completion so the journo may not be so full of it.

What do you mean? Offers as in transfer fee? I would think that the transfer fee has to be accepted first before any kind of contractual negotiations begin.

yes..so when they say "offer rejected", it's usually after either through intermediaries or agents, an acceptable bid has been determined---sometimes they are off and it requires multiple bids but negotiations don't start with an offer, is all I'm saying and that is based off of some of those articles I've read describing the process, I could understand completely wrong.
