Bloody good too have Daws back. Hoping he can form a formidable partnership with Gallas when he gets back.

Meathead Wilson was brillaint today so i just wanted to give him a mention on here. Was looking back to his old 2009 tenacious self.

Was a bit gutted we drew after the manner in which we conceded the equalizer but after hearing the problems they have up north, it looks like we will have a few chances to make up that 4 point gap.

All I want for Xmas is......VDV's bird!

IMO we have 3 excellent young CB's, it's difficult to say who should play as first choice, personally think Kaboul and Bassong have the most potential.

Hats off to the pair of them. I was impressed by Luka's tracking back yesterday aswell.

I know Wilson has been improving but I don't think its any coincidence that his best performance for a while was on Dawson’s return. Throughout the game I noticed how much Dawson was talking to him and almost directing him. As a result his covering of space was better when Dawson or Bassong went forward, and the overall defensive balance of the team was better IMO.
I just think that the 2 of them work well together.

All round pretty good defensive performance yesterday, excluding the 2 Gomes c*ck ups

We're not far off a really good side, we just need to stop leaking silly goals and putting more points on the board

Where are the Wilson haters now??

A few days ago atleast 5-6 posters were saying we need to get rid of him, he is never goin to recover his form etc...

Where are those posters now?

Excellent to see Palacios playing so well yesterday. With so many injuries we need him in that kind of form

TBH after that shocking first half against Liverpool WP hasn't looked back.
I think maybe he has reverted to playing a simpler game, but whatever it is it seems to be working for him.

He's had a terrible time recently on and off the pitch, it's great to see him get some form back.

Was he not injured at the end as well?

He got a knock but was back on his feet and looked ready to come back on when the sub was made. It looked like he was held back by the physio because he hadn't realised that Sandro had come on. I'm sure he's fine.

Not convinced they should, I see them as challengers for the same spot, and together they'd struggle with lack of pace. For me Bassong should keep his place in the team for the moment, and it's Kaboul's to challenge.

Palacios did exactly what he has always been doing for us, bar the odd clusterfuck of a pass which lead to false conclusions about him.

Maybe he has found a little bit more vigour in his play, but all I really saw was the same old, very good Wilson Palacios.

Good to see Daws back too, and considering he probably wouldn't have played had Gallas and Kaboul been fit, he did fucking well.

Sarge had a stonking game, when he does a Zokora and drives forward not many people are stopping him unless they're built like a challenger tank, unlike Zokora he has a decent shot on him or at least a better radar than Zoko had fitted.
I think he does need someone to keep talking to him through the game remember his English isn't too clever (better than my Honduran though) he occasionally gets caught between stick or twist but if the blokes around you don't communicate then you're going to muck up.

Daws for a first game back Eek up until the Drog moment you wouldn't have known he'd been away, that's the sign of a very good player (funnily enough even though i don't like him you'd have to say that about Terry)

Palacios was OK but to be honest when he plays there with Lika it leaves a massive gap to the front line as neither get too far forward. If VDV was in there it would be ok but in a 442 we need to have a Jenas or Hudd in the middle that will help to bridge that gap. Still not a big fan of Palacios and waiting to be impressed, in my opinion he is great in the tackle and breaking up play but that is all - and that isn't enough. The best defensive midfielder would be one who breaks it up then uses the ball to move us forward - Wilson just doesn't have that in his locker so will always be a poor mans Diarra.
