Unfortunately due to injuries and loaning BAE out there is not much chance of either happening at the moment. But if it were possible I would have both out of the team in a shot. Dawson is a more than decent CB but just not good enough for us. I watched the Villa CB earlier and if you want to see an awful player watch him, he puts Dawson into context believe me.

I just don't get Dawson, it nothing to do with the manager, he's been shit under them all. He is the captain of the club which seems to make him undroppable.

I feel for both these guys in a way. Naughton isn't a versatile FB, he is a RB at best. Can't play a natural left sided role, so shouldn't be deployed there. Dawson just can't handle the modern game, can't remember the last time he looked comfortable and commanding at CB. Impervious to criticism by some it seems, which is possibly why AVB has stuck with him.

Dawson was a lot better than Capoue today, and a lot better than Kaboul against City.

Substitute 'a lot' for 'a little bit' and I would agree, but that's not saying much... Kaboul (injury/rust) and Capoue (out of position) had some semblance of an excuse.

Dawson was a lot better than Capoue today, and a lot better than Kaboul against City.

Some people have no time for reason or facts, i guess haters gonna hate etc.

Dawson is struggling amongst a team that is misfiring all over the park, being played in a position he's not suited to. I agree, if we're to persist with this high line and have left and right backs who are either just filling gaps or are more interested with getting forward than defending when required, he is not the man for the job, but it's a retarded job to be asked to do.

We have proven, over several seasons, that Dawson is a quality defender and that Naughton is very likely not of the standard we require at this level, but as of this moment they are all the options we have. Injuries and weight of games means we have to use the squad - if the manager, who i have defended regularly and have tried to have faith in, chooses to continue with a tactic that doesn't suit our squad then i can't bring myself to point fingers at the players quite so much.

AVB appears to be playing a style and shape regardless of the players he has at his disposal, trying to force square pegs into round holes and it's not working, demotivating the squad and costing us results for both of them reasons.

I hate to say it, but i think that if AVB doesn't have it in him to change the formation and start playing to the strengths of the squad then he does indeed need to be considered the problem and perhaps replaced.

This 'squad players' term is overused and utter bollocks. If you want to be top then all players should be good enough for a first team. Our problem is we've got too many 'squad players'.

They are good enough back up players, other as right back, but is being played out of position because AVB wanted to get rid of Benny. Other has showed throughout the years than he is at least PL level backup, however high line isn't excatly playing to strenghts of his. Like it wasn't for Alex or John Terry at Chelsea.

Just thought i'de see what peoples thoughts are towards these two 'footballers'.

Dawson is a great footballer, a true Yid and fucking top bloke so I don't really like the inverted comma's around footballer but he isn't suited to high line football.

Neither are first team players anymore but are having to do the job. I feel very deflated at the moment after spending so much money and yet still having so many issues within the team sheet, again though highlighted Benni being loaned is another of AVB problems of his own making

Did anyone see Soldado applaud Naughton when he tried to pass and put it straight out of play :D

It looked to me like he was trying to keep his chin up, not put him down. What we need from our senior pro's when young players confidence is shot to bits in front of a home crowd

We can say the same about Lloris, Paulinho & Saldado. I think it was down to one man, Poor management.

Ekotto & Adebayor could offer much more to this team, yet they were axed, and Lamela is not getting far chance.
