I had this problem once with my ex and I ended up missing a 7 goal thriller (which we won 4-3) to go out with her. Then around a week later she fell down the stairs, broke her neck and died so it never happened again. The post mortem also revealed a gunshot wound to the ****, which was odd.

British plod, ladies and gentlemen.

It's the business end of the season now so it's tough to miss any of the games. Woman will always test. Stand your ground and get all Gandalf and shit if needs be "You shant pass" and all that.

Have you tried the infamous football player speil when it gets to the last 8 games or so? You could say to her:

"We've got 8 cup finals to play from now till the end of the season" It does my nut when players say that so I'm not so sure how the woman will take it

You need to sort her out..... My brother is flying in from Atlanta on Thursday, bringing girlfriend with him to meet the family for first time. Take a guess at his first priority - yep, getting a pair of tickets for the Basel game that evening!!!

You sir, are the man!

Is she fit? Could you do better? Depending on those answers you know deep down what to do. Take it from me though, girlfriends come and go but THFC will be with you forever (even if you get days where you wish they wouldn't be). Over the years I've passed up days out that would get me brownie points only to go on to see us play shit and lose and then you wonder why the fcuk you did that? My advice is to go out with the GF but make sure you have a phone signal to check in with SC. You can usually tell how the match is playing out within 5 posts as we're either world beaters or certain for relegation next season.

Totally agree. Get the sex while you can. Been there too, and Spurs are still here :)

The wise words of our resident poo fu master, A&C, must always be considered and wise was the advise he gave. On the other hand, if in trouble or lost, ask a policeman. What Bomber had to say also rings true, in that if you ended missing one of the games that went down in the annuls of spurs history, then death would seem a resonable response.
If all else fails and you really need a get out, try taking up a extreme sport for a while. You can always then pull a injury the day before, and when she gets sick of that, give it up. Though in this case you are doing this for her sake and though I love doing it you will do it for her, I will just have to stick to watching my beloved spurs etc...

If who you are is a spurs fanatic who watches every game at all costs then that's what she should take you as and love you for, not some sop who misses games for unimportant events.

You should've seen my exes face when she asked me what I'd miss spurs for and I said 'maybe my first child's birth.'

Weddings are for the summer, funerals should be midweek so you have a day off work too. Don't miss the game.

With my wife over 12 years and she still doesn't get the whole Saturday/Sunday is football day. I have to start putting all the games on a calendar in the kitchen.

This is very smart, women cannot ignore anything on a calendar. My wife is obsessed with ours.
