You will never win. Every time you think you've git them sust they up their game by 10 levels, we can't compete with that shit, trust me.
If she is a keeper suck it up and do as you are told mate, anything for an easy life!

If you've got tickets it's a no brainer. You had it arranged before she trampled all over your plans. If all you were going to do is watch it on a stream/telly/post kneejerk shit in the match thread then you are in the shit and should carefully consider any decision.

Spurs will play literally squillions of games in your lifetime. If she's a bird that you see a future with, then meh, it's Swansea fucking City, shrug your shoulders and take the hit. If she's some doris that you're just getting stuck across casually until someone better comes along and you don't much care one way or the other then that's different.

I guess it all boils down to how serious you are about her. Sometimes you have to lose the occasional battle in order to win the war.

Also, if you have tickets for the match and have subsequently decided not to go...sell them through official channels (and let me know you are doing so! ;))

Damn you A&C you've now made it 100 times worse. I haven't got tickets and I was 'just' planning on watching a stream and sharing the good/bad times with my fellow SC'ers (although that wouldn't involve posting knee-jerk shit in the match thread). However when you put it like that it does sound like I'm being unreasonable. It's just I struggle with not watching Spurs - as weird as that sounds (International breaks make me feel suicidal).

Arggghhh.

P.S If anyone knows any good mobile streaming sites then pm me aaaieee ;)

The old man knows that if there is a game on (I watch on TV or online) it comes before anything else apart from a terrible disaster or a really important event of some kind happening that can't be avoided. We know that can happen and we'd be selfish if we didn't allow for such times.

He even bought me a portable telly for downstairs in the kitchen so I can watch televised games while I cook or listen to them on a radio station and dash back up to my PC to watch the stream if it's around the time I'm making dinner (which would have been prepared before the game and require minimal attention).

He understands and so should anyone whose partner is a fan or supporter of a particular sport or pursuit that they don't want to miss.

100% the right thing to do. I have been with my missis for ten years and she knows not to plan or bother me when spurs are playing unless I say it's ok. You have to get this nailed in early though.

However having said that she is a women and my wife so that's pretty much all I get a say in ;-)

You need to sort her out..... My brother is flying in from Atlanta on Thursday, bringing girlfriend with him to meet the family for first time. Take a guess at his first priority - yep, getting a pair of tickets for the Basel game that evening!!!

You have to work at it.

I've been going out with my GF for four years now and we're at a point now where I'll just say to her 'nope, can't do the afternoon of Saturday 30th, Spurs are playing'. She accepts that Spurs play once a week for about two hours and I like watching the games, so she leaves me to it.

The only time I have a problem is if I don't look at the fixture list properly and she locks me down for a date in the future. If that happens, well, that's my mistake and I can't back out.

I've learnt never to say yes to anything before checking the fixture list! ;)

There's a few left on general sale...

As for Nocando- The way we are playing at the moment I would take her out try to gain some Karma the hope for a win.

Do whatever you can't do Saturday and she can't do Sunday, on Bank Holiday Monday.

You've ruined the foundations of your relationship.

Ive been seeing my girlfriend for nearly half a year now, and she knows i am unreachable when Spurs are on.

Take for instance tomorrow, our conversation went like this:

Mrs Meat Curtains: fancy coming round and giving me the D?

Me: well i suppose bitch, but Spurs are on.

MMC: ok see you about 6.

My girlfriend knows her role. Family > Spurs > the wife > girlfriend.

You're doing it wrong my friend

Oh we already too care of it - I booked the tickets earlier in the week for him. It just made me chuckle that he's coming back to introduce girlfriend to family etc. but his first priority was taking her to Spurs!!!

There is something called a compromise (ok I looked it up), take her out to a spurs pub, watch the game, then take her to dinner. Problem solved. I'm your Dr Phil

(my wife would never suggest us doing things when there is a game, 25+ years with spurs, 4 years with her)

With my wife over 12 years and she still doesn't get the whole Saturday/Sunday is football day. I have to start putting all the games on a calendar in the kitchen.

I had this problem once with my ex and I ended up missing a 7 goal thriller (which we won 4-3) to go out with her. Then around a week later she fell down the stairs, broke her neck and died so it never happened again. The post mortem also revealed a gunshot wound to the ****, which was odd.
