I've got to disagree mate, Dele as part of a front 3 in a 3-4-3 formation would thrive i reckon, wing-backs pushing high up the field would allow him to come narrow and join up with Kane & Son.

I did think that too and I am sure Poch used him like that a couple of times coming in off the wing.

I’m inclined to agree but equally, if Ndombele could be incorporated, built around and he lived up to his potential then that could be spectacular.

Lot of IFs though.

He's 24 now though, he is no longer a kid, how much longer do we have to wait for that potential?

He's on over £200k a week, as Poch once said "we aren't running a charity". I don't have the patience for him I am afraid, as talented as he is. If it is one or the other then I'm keeping Dele, he has historically produced more match deciding moments than Ndombele. It is whether he can still do it. At least by the pictures this summer, he looks like he is giving it a go.

I think that’s fair. In an ideal world we play a formation which can accommodate either and they push the fuck out of each other, but especially with funds being tight I’d imagine something has to give. I also would hope that missing out on this summers football would serve a kick up the arse to both.

True. I just don't see how he fits into a Nuno team and wouldn't be surprised to see him or Ndombele moved on.
I keep seeing people suggest Ndombele being sold. He’s been all over our recent social media posts and is our record signing. Like him or not, he’s not going anywhere.

I’d sell both if we could. Both have been poor for a couple of years ( Dele longer? ).

I thought he was great when Mason took over though he tired noticeably in the last couple of games. I'll always have time for him even if he's a frustratingly inconsistent player.

Credit where due, he looks in really good shape. Dele is a weird one, he has the ability to have fantastic output in terms of goals and assists but at the same time can be so frustrating.

A few months ago I wanted him out but I think I want him to get another shot under Nuno. He is saying the right things and had put the work in when the season finished physically, let's give him one last roll of the spurs dice.

Love dele, hope Nuno gets the best out of him, Nuno seems the type to put his arm round the shoulder of a player and get the best out of somebody like dele who I think needs some love. Looking forward to seeing if dele can get back to his best.

Fitness was never the issue with Alli. He’s a top pro when it comes to that. It’s the on the ball decisions that he need to work on.

Thing is he was never that great at keeping possesion anyway and he used to go missing all the time even when he was at his best. Me and my Dad used to say 'He's having a shocker again. Probably bloody score in a minute' and he usually did. Scoring goals is the hardest part of the game. You can have all the possesion and the silkiest, fast flowing football the world has ever seen BUT if you cant stick the ball away its all worth jack shit. Dele scores and creates. Everything else is irrelevant imo.
I'm a big fan. And I dont hold much on his performances under a struggling team that got Poch the sack and playing under Jose when he was constantly telling him he's shit.

I have a feeling we are going to see the old Dele we all love this season. I think he be fired up on how well England are doing in the Euros and his missed it due to lack of form. He will be re-focused with the World Cup coming up next year.

By the look of his summer training photo he’s been skipping leg day. He’s got legs like toothpicks!

Love him or hate him, I can’t see any club coming in and paying a decent fee and matching his wages, particularly given the risk that he has been poor for a couple of years now. I expect to see him still at Spurs next season.

Love your optimism buddy. But I think this will be the third or fourth 'dele comeback' and it will go the same way as the last ones.

I'd love you to be right but I'd sell.

Tbf he’s a professional athlete, he’s only 25 and skinny as you like. I would be worried if he didn’t have muscle shape tbf. It doesn’t mean he can control a ball better or stop slowing every attack by being pretty rubbish.

I think that is down to what Nuno sees him as and where he plays and our expectations of Dele in that role. If we play him defensive midfielder... Then that is not going to work as an example and I'm exaggerating a point to make a point. He hasn't been great I agree but wish we could play him in his best position.
