I wouldn't be surprised (to move for him) if it was late in the window and we hadn't brought anyone in.

Not surprised he wants out. Didn't get any minutes at the weekend and by all accounts wolves completely outplayed Leicester. As others have said, surely he'd initially be swapping one bench for another, so would be surprised if this came off.

So much depends on what is going to happen with Lamela.

If he's going to remain out (which to be honest I think is the most likely scenario) then we do need to spend some money on an alternative, as otherwise we are relying a lot on Son, Eriksen and Alli.

I don't think Poch rates N'Koudou, Onomah seemingly wants to play deeper, and other than that I'm not sure who we'd use in the attacking 3.

Assuming Sissoko is off (as if we'd notice) it really is an area we need to strengthen in, and even if we do sign Barkley, I'd say we also need a player who can play more comfortably in the wide positions.

Someone like Gray would be perfect in that he'll understand not playing week-in week-out, but offers us something different when he plays, and is likely to benefit hugely from working with Poch.

The question is how much is that potential worth. In this market none of us have any idea, but I doubt very much Levy will be paying 30m plus for him.

I am unsure of Nkoudou but agree we should be looking to develop what we have over buying over the odds for someone who is not that good.

I think there was a suggestion that he had a £12m fixed buy out clause? For a young British player then that may well be a decent price.

Personally I think the guy has potential also.

Thought it was £22m and I'm pretty sure some articles said he didn't even have a release clause.

There's certainly been stories suggesting his price will be over £20m and there is no release clause.

Sorry to ask the obvious question but how is someone who can't establish himself for Leicester going to improve us ?
I'd suggest Poch would improve him and then he could improve us.
And to be fair, I don't think "improve" is what we need. He'd just offer variety.
As for swapping one bench for another, he's got to see Poch giving youngsters a chance and find that tempting.

Willing to bet big money that he'll be playing for a top 6 side in the next 2 years.

If we don't get him now, I suspect we'll have missed the boat, kid has bags of talent and majorly underused at Leicester.

I'd like to see this happen, with better decision making and bulking up (which is only natural) I think he could become a star. But I see this going down to the wire, and all subject to whether Roma stump up for Mahrez and what Shakespear does or doesn't do to replace him.

I wouldn't pay any attention to how many minutes he got in a pre season friendly, it's probably just other players needing the minutes more as gray was playing for the u21 only a few weeks ago

Isn't it rumoured that he has a £15-£20 million buyout clause in his contract? If that's true and not more newspaper rubbish then I'd be disappointed if we didn't bid for him.

A reasonable question, perhaps because he only turned 21 a month ago and has potential, the other option is to wait until he has established himself in their first team in which case he will cost even more.
Not that I am bothered whether we buy him or mind you.
