Where?

Useful player, but fail to see where he'd be of benefit. Would be a recent Levy signing though for sure. Moutinho? 40m? no way, you can have Clint Demps instead.

Yeap , Moutinho you are too good and will cost so much so we will go for Plan D

i shall be collecting my rep in the near future.....

Congrats, you may have mentioned it but we have purchased a player we do not need in a position that is already filled.

Smacks of a desperate purchase when the Moutinho deal was impossible. We still lack a ball playing midfielder, and cover on the wings.

We have reduced our chance of getting a top 4 finish with our business in this transfer window.

Limited striking options, not enough wide options and no ball playing midfielder. Really feel the squad is moving backwards, and the first team and squad both lack balance within the system we are going to be playing under AVB.

Sad day for Spurs.

What a player and someone I think will be a great scorer of goals for us.

However I am not sure if I should like him because he went on strike at Fulham.

Is he a scumbag or is it ok because he is OUR scumbag?

Luka went on strike and you loved him! Be consistent Stemark

Dempsey is a great bit of business. VDV replacement making £4m profit.
Proven goal machine, immense last year, able to play more match time than VDV, more mobility.

the guy is a premiership star, levys effectively removed the beating heart of a very dangerous fulham side. chelsea and man city would be proud.

Murphy is hardly a Spurs legend.

Good signing though, guy gives everything and knows where the goal is. Can see him scoring a lot of goals this season.

Actions speak louder than words - the man requested a move to a club with CL potential, and he chose us over Liverpool. He knows both clubs very well, he is not like someone who had never heard of us. That is a very good sign. I like this kind of attitude.

With so many players that left the club and so many new ones that were just singed in, I expect us to have a shaky start but have a strong end of this season and hopefully a CL spot and a respected performance in Europa League, from which we can build on for the next season and challenge for medals and even the title.

All they have to do players, manager and coaching staff, is work hard and reap the results of their labor. And I am optimistic about that too, as in the latest training videos I have seen, they have really put into a higher gear.

As far as Dempsey, I have always rated the guy, very clever player, very hard to play against.

Only time will tell.

He is a player that we do not need, we needed a ball playing midfielder with defensive capabilities not another attacking midfielder where we already have players in that position.

You cannot dispute that our squad is weaker now that it was at the start of the transfer window, and that the balance of the squad is all wrong.

Granted Dempsey has played wide in the past, but has played a lot more centrally over the last couple of years when we have seen his best football.

I don't really see him as a like for like replacement for Bale or Lennon as he will be wasted out there in the same way that VDV, Modric or Kranjcar were wasted there when played in that position.

Going by your logic, that means Dembele is actually backup for our strikers if they are injured. You are not acknowledging that we should actually have prepared the squad to have the strength in depth to handle injuries across the entire team instead of the team being overloaded in certain positions.

He was previously my favorite non-Spurs player and now he'll probably be my favorite Spurs player, barring an unexpected failure.

Dempsey is a very versatile player - he can play next to or behind our strikers, and he can drop deeper in the midfield, or play one of the wide positions. He is also more creative than he's given credit for, although many of his goals come from direct play - taking players on, and/or making excellent runs off the ball.

Dempsey should be a hit, and I think he'll give us the cutting edge in the final third that we're often lacking. 6million is an absolute steal btw. If his name was Dempsinho he'd cost 15-20.
