I'm not saying Clattenburg said or didn't say whatever he's meant to have said, but what still surprises me is that people keep saying "he's not a racist" as if that has anything to do with it, and as if they haven't learned anything from the previous cases.

It's possible to make a comment that may have racist implications and still not be in any way a racist.

Apparently Dermot Gallagher has said that he spoken to Clattenburg and that he said he didnt say what was claimed, Dermot Gallagher did say the Mics are Recorded and that it should prove Clattenburg's innocence

He also said that Chelsea should be worried if the mic picked up what Torres said to the 4th official when he got sent off

I would love to see this come back to bite Chelsea in the ass.

I really can't believe a ref would say something like that to a player, but he did look extremely pissed off during the game yesterday. It will be interesting to hear what the other officials say.

I can see this backfiring on Chelsea. Hopefully the next one of their players who swears at a ref will be sent off straight away.

If Clat said something then i would be very surprised. I thought they are recorded. Chelsea could claim they misheard him.

Refs who allow players to get away with swearing at them are their own worst enemy. make it clear abuse will not be tolerated and it stops. simples

This is what we need. Authority on the pitch. Rugby so has it nailed.

The refs conversations are not recorded, though I suspect that might change. The ref has an open mic so the other three will hear everything he says.

My thoughts. If a referee makes a racist comment to Mikel, where was the reaction from the Chelsea players? We've seen many times (sadly) what happens when these horrible comments are directed at players. They respond very emotionally (see Danny Rose). Did Mikel really not react to the comments until after the game?

It's very fishy indeed for Chelsea to be coming out with a racial accusation in the current climate. I smell a rat.

Could it be to divert attention from the fact their fans seemed to attack a Chelsea steward and threw him over advertising boards, frankly with chelsea fans history it wouldn't insane to say there may have been a racial incident

Fucking Hell ... if true.

Punishment?

Dock Chelsea 10 points for every person involved and the same length of ban that Cantona got, for every person involved.

:banhappy:
Chelsea have got away with so much over the years and tbh I can see them getting off with this,

I mean from a PR point of view they make themselves to look dumb but are cunning like Ashley Cole calling the FA a "bunch of Twats" clearly diverted attention from the fact that the FA believe the Chelsea general Manager told Cole to change his statement and lie in court to discredit a friend.

You gotta love John Terry getting involved again. He really doesn't learn does he?

It's hard what to think of all this now, stories coming out of a big contingent getting involved, with players and chelsea officials acting like bouncers. Typical Chelsea if you ask me. If reports are to be believed I honestly couldn't think of another team who would act like this. I don't even think Man U would. Should be an interesting couple of days. Would love to read what Clattenberg put in his 'Extraordinary incident report'

Imagine my surprise at this, always thought Terry was a top professional!

Terry raced from the other end of the tunnel area – around 15 yards – to join the melee.

Let this be a lesson to any referees who dare send off chelsea players at stamford bridge.
I've always thought Clattenburg is the kind of guy who would stand up for himself nobody's yes man and so if four chelsea "delegates" went to his room shouting and hollering I can imagine him putting it right back at them, maybe they didn't like that.
