A 20 years old CB, playing RB vs one of the best teams in the EPL, in his 1st season in the EPL....and he was Spurs most dangerous attacking force!
I thought he was excellent yesterday and it all bodes well for him as future CB rock for Spurs for years to come (hopefully) :smug:

tbh i think he should be our rb main stay until we have a real starting caliber rb to fill that gap. personally i would love it if hes retrain into an rb aka ivanovic.

Considering most of us thought he would make the first team it's been a fantastic first season for him when you consider he has been played out of position for large parts of it. Definitely see his future at centre back but has held his own at right back for most of the time and has a great cross. Big future for us and England I reckon

If the Trippier deal goes through, it suggests that he'll mainly be used as a CB next season. Hopefully he gets a good amount of minutes to help him continue to develop.

This is Dier's first season in English soil - so in a way he is a foriegner too, adjusting to the conditions & way the game is played. Infact he himself said this recently.

If anything, with proper preseason, he has a big season ahead. He is in the U21 team. I am sure, he will play a big part in it.

For his & Kane sake, I hope they win the Euro's - that would given immeasurable confidence & up their game next game. On same note, I hope & pray all Spurs players come out of the Euros without any injuries.

Dier has turned into a massive success story alright, I love his attitude and he rarely makes cock-ups like Fazio is prone to doing, I feel happier when Dier is in that slot. He can play CB or RB and looks dangerous going forward. Think he will become one of the foundations of our team over time.

Southgate dropped him from the U 21 squad and kept Liam Moore and Keane instead  His logic was rather odd.

"Eric was a difficult one," Southgate admitted. "That’s because we’ve got five very good centre-backs in that initial squad. Eric was last involved in the play-off game in Croatia and part of my thinking was that out of those five, Eric can be part of the U21s squad again next season."

Watching him perform at RB, strangely enough, convinces me that he has absolutely everything needed to be the best English CB since John Terry (I'm sure Mourinho is looking at him). Strength, size, pace, heading, temperament, probably our best crosser as well. Just add experience.

Can he anticipate danger like Ledley King or John Terry?
