Nuno Espirito Santo was without a number of key players at Selhurst Park but the underlying numbers suggest this sort of performance was coming.

Yes a lot of bad luck was involved in how we had to field the team without certain players but the manner in which we played left a lot to be desired. We were initially set up to go for another 1 nil win it seems and it was so obvious we had no creativity in midfield changes needed to be made. Diers injury was unfortunate but we had another sub we could have used and he didn't. Poor from Nuno on this one and I don't think we'll have any chance of Harry staying at this rate.

The players all saw at the end of Poch's reign that a diamond midfield doesn't work for us. So I'm surprised they didn't raise this with Nuno before the game.

A load of nonsense, "was without a number of key players"?
We were without the heart of our defence that has kept three clean sheets and he says we should have stuck with the 433 without the two leading components of our attack force Bergwijn and Son who make it work.
This is a bandwagon jumping article that passes over the loss of players like it shouldn't really have been a problem.

There are Spurs fans of a certain age who probably had Palace down as a home banker. Early game, away from home, London rival, Viera's Arsenal connections, they hadn't won, we hadn't lost nor conceded. All added up to a Spurs loss. Been there too many times.

I can deal with this game as a one off. The question is whether it is one.

I watched Chelsea go down a man at Liverpool, dig deep and deservedly get a draw with a chance for more. I saw Tuchel be very proactive agains against Aston Villa by making changes at HT to get the win. I saw nothing from NES to put us on the front foot or to dig deep and get a draw at Palace. That is more worrying for me even allowing for the disparity in the squads.

I watched Aston Villa play a very progressive game, pace, pressing, flair, etc. against Chelsea and the score was not a reflection of their performance. Why can't we play on the front foot and take the game to the opposition? Nuno had that Tim Sherwood caught in the headlights look on the sideline on Saturday.

The next two games will be a huge test for the new manager.
