Lloris
Soldado
Eriksen
Lamela
Paulinho
Capoue
Chadli
Vlad
Verts
Kaboul
Holtby
Carroll
Fredricks
---- In fact most of our youngsters coming through, Kane included.

To a lesser extent

Townsend - has potential, but constantly makes the wrong choices, needs a better footballing brain which ultimately makes me want to slap him in the face with a used condom half the time... But has loads of potential and time is running out for him.... Oh and plays on the left :)

Walker - Very good, still needs to work on his decision making and final ball.

Ade - Yes has been playing well, but is in his third year now and has been inconsistant. Soldado and all new players get the benefit of the doubt for now, first year and all that rubbish.

Dembele - Can do some amazing runs, then cock up or forget to proved the final ball. He is great at holding on too, but the releasing side of it sucks arse.

Lennon, Dawson, Rose, Naughton all excite me when I hear their names attached to rumours taking them away from the club.

There really is a massive amount of positives, especially with quality of players we have at our disposal, especially for the right manager, when he comes along (whoever that maybe). The problems is, a lot of our problems are at the business side (football wise, on the pitch etc) side of things and we are not actually utilising those great players we have.
Do these players excite you with what they produce on the pitch or are you excited by your perception of their potential and what they may go on to produce in the future?

My interpretation of the question being raised by the OP is this thread was if there was anyone in the current squad who's play on the pitch excites you - gets you off your seat with their skill or whatever else a footballer can do to excite the crowd. In the way the likes of Modric, Bale, VdV, Ginola, Berbatov etc etc used to excite and entertain us

For me I am incline to agree that there is no one who is currently an exciting player - sure there's potential for the future and we have perhaps seen glimpses from the likes of Erkisen, Lamela and even Soldado and I personally see Sandro as an exciting player with his passion, his crunching tackles and his long range shooting ability

Dembele is exciting at times when he dribbles - but not in the way a Ginola once was or a Bale in full stride would be etc

I think the point being made is a valid one - we lack exciting players in the here and now and there is no one out there who gets the crowd buzzing or who takes the game by the scruff of the neck and gets his team mates performing to a higher level

So I agree - no we don't really have any truly exciting players like now but we have a lot of potential we can be excited about for the future (if you see the distinction I am trying to make)

Lamela
Holtby
Lloris
Eriksen
Soldado

In that order. It would be nice if we were allowed to see them play some football together :(

For me they are exciting, maybe because of potential and flashes that they have shown.

But for all intent and purposes I am try to hold onto something positive, for me personally to believe in as there has not been a lot to shout about recently in my opinion, even the wins just covered some pretty big cracks that I just can't ignore.

So I am not having a dig or saying that the OP is wrong or anyone else, just posting something I see as a positive.

I was just trying to make a distinction between what an exciting player is and what a player to be excited about is

For me the players you mention are more exciting because of what they may become rather than anything they are producing right now

VdV, Modric, Bale - 3 very recent examples of exciting players and I can't say anyone has produced anything to be considered in the same light just yet.

I am however like you excited (if that's the right word) about the likes of Lamela and Erkisen in as far as I think they have the potential to become top players like the 3 I mention - but that in my eyes is different from being exciting players

I know and I agree with what you are saying, so I am just looking at the other things that get me excited.

Excite ? No.

Entertain ? Yes. Dawson and his clown act is highly entertaining. To give him credit he seems to working hard on his "act" because he is getting more comical with every game. :)

Chadli when he doesn't play.
Would love to see lamela have a run of games, sadly hearing some unpleasant rumours about the man

Dembele, Eriksen, Townsend occasionally.

I'm sure Lamela would be exciting if he played.

Eriksen, Lamela, and Soldado all are actually very exciting players. Once Soldado starts scoring, he wont stop. Lamela needs to get healthy and be given the same run of games that Bentaleb has and he will be one of the best players on the pitch, if not the best.
