Soldado wasn't a one season wonder either. His scoring stats in La Liga had been very respectable for over half a decade before we signed him.

Vlahovic is significantly less proven, plus has a slightly worrying recent injury record (6 injuries in the space of 12 months). I think he would be much better than Soldado was, but it certainly wouldn't be a risk-free signing.

Yeah there's risk for sure..... Soldado like most players from the Spanish league aren't equipped for the PL.

We didn’t set up to get the best out of Soldado at all. It’s absolutely got fuck all to do with this thread though.

We have clearly scoured the hell out of Vlahovic. If we want him, I’m sure he will be a success. In an attacking team he seems like he could be a great fit based on previous performances.

Can’t comment on his injuries but I’m sure Paratici etc will have a a clear understanding of this though

To be fair this guy was Paratici’s replacement for Kane from early on. I think even when he signed him for juve he thought he was getting the “new” Kane

For what it’s worth Ben Jacobs said on the last word tonight that he isn’t a target for us, we looked at him in the past but aren’t looking now but Juve do need to sell someone as they need to raise funds.

Looks like he was right, Miguel Delaney’s just posted that Juve need to sell him but “haven’t been able to”. Was offered to Chelsea apparently, so he’s clearly available at whatever price Juve are asking. I do find it a little crazy considering we just sold Kane but it is what it is, maybe the price is too high (not sure how when you’d expect that he’d be cheaper than what we got for Kane) or Ange doesn’t rate/want him. At this point I will be happily surprised if we bring in another striker, which sums it all up really. Only Levy sells Kane and doesn’t replace him. Although I thought that Richarlison was the replacement last summer, looks like I was right. Not giving up on him yet but it’s pretty clear he won’t get anywhere near Kane’s goal output. While the results are there, he’ll get patience but I’m slightly concerned about what happens if our form drops off.

If we are doing hypotheticals, there's also the scenario where he's not 100% interested as we offer no Europe, and haven't won anything of note for over 30 years, and could make more money in Saudi if that's what floats his boat. I think signing players for us just got harder.

Ben Jacobs doesn't know anything unless it's related to Qatar

and even then I'm not sure. Nothing came of his supposed exclusive back in January.

He is absolutely useless as a sports journalist though and that is me being kind.

It’s perfectly feasible that he may not be interested in coming here. However WLB said earlier this month that he was initially in our strategy before FP was banned but remains a viable option. Also said Ange likes him.

Would love us to try and sign him personally, but not certain he’s right for our style of play now.

I can see him being a big mover on the final day. I‘m a bit unnerved that the scum are moving out Balogun, Tierney etc to make way from him. They seemed mega interested before he went to Juventus, and are allegedly still looking for a striker.

It’d be a bitter pill to swallow if he ended up being a major success over there.

I reckon it’s the injury concerns tbh. He scored a lovely header the other day for Juve and is a quality player imo but I think there are too many question marks.
