Tosin and Tapsoba has a nice ring to it, those two and maybe bring up a younger player for rotation when Romero gets one if his mysterious “there’s international games coming up” injuries and I think we are looking a whole lot healthier.

For a dude who is 6'4 it surprises me that his aerial duals won percentage isn't higher.
A lot of stats are squewed by the way a team plays. I don't know how Leverkusen play so cant comment on this, but taking Raya as an example, his long passing is good, but having Ivan Toney to hit does help inflate the numbers.

Fucking hell Diers been hung drawn and quartered. Fourth choice would be generous

Yeah and the fact that he's not HG with his contract, I think it just makes sense to move on for all parties. I think he's Spurs through and through and had some really good seasons, some tough years, and actually thought he was really good in Conte's first season to get us 4th. But possibly switching to a back 4, mehhh.

Tapsoba, Romero, possibly Tosin would all better suit on paper at least the qualities that Ange is going for. Tapsoba would be an excellent signing, however. Wouldn't surprise me if other sides swoop in for him.

Thought I’d seen a valuation earlier on in this thread at £60m. I prefer the lower end of yours…

Dier's pretty rubbish and needs to go but I think it's not a huge surprise his stats were so low for duels and defensive actions given he was at the centre of a largely deep-lying back 3. Under Conte he basically had the most passive, protected defensive position in the PL and it was rarely his job to engage 1v1 (although he was shocking on the occasions he was exposed).

The fact that he rarely had to engage in 1vs1's but when the moments came where he had to, he literally couldnt do it, is almost impressive.

Hadn’t seen this posted already. Mike McGrath mentions Tapsoba and a name from last summer - Gleison Bremer, but seems to suggest it might be one for later in the window. Anyone know how he did last season?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...ook-tottenham-juventus-player-gleison-bremer/

Tottenham are watching Gleison Bremer’s situation at Juventus as they assess centre-back targets to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s backlinethis summer.

Bremer, 26, has been on Spurs’ radar since playing at Torino before moving to Juve a year ago, where he has impressed during a season of turmoil during which they were docked points and finished seventh in Serie A.

The Brazil international has other admirers in the Premier League who are waiting to see if he will be made available after just one season at Juventus. There are expected to be outgoings at the club and his availability could rest on whether others are offloaded first, with sources not expecting approaches until late in the window.

Spurs have been looking at centre-backs and, as reported by the Telegraph Sport, have shown interest in Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, who has lost his regular starting place under Erik Ten Hag. They have also been linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

In the centre-back position, new manager Postecoglou has Clément Lenglet returning to Barcelona after his season-long loan last season, while Davinson Sánchez could leave the club for the right price.
