I think this is the most annoying thing for me. Why are our resources limited? Doesn't really seem to be much point in building a new stadium.

Our actions seem to indicate it, just living in the real world.
All the higher spending clubs are either financially doped or spending money they don't have.

Or the actions could suggest Levy just wants to keep the club as profitable as possible and isn't interested in the footballing side.

So we have got ourselves into nearly £1 billion worth of debt for nothing? Brilliant

Not for nothing, to make ENIC a massive profit when they eventually sell

And if we do sell Kane, any prospective CB's price will suddenly jump up another few notches.
Absolutely and even Levy will be aware of this. He won’t be paying more for them, ‘just because they know we can now afford it’.

Leverkusen now linked to Jesús Orozco Chiquete who is a left sided CB. Clutching at straws, but reason for delay might be that they need a replacement ready before they can sell Tapsoba.

Thing is most of us thought the same last season when we were linked to Gvardiol, Bastoni, Bremer and co.

...yet we ended up with Lenglet on loan.

I'm generally in agreement with you and am trying to remain optimistic but this is Spurs and Levy. If we don't sell Kane then there's at least some chance that Tosin is the main CB signing. It's well within the realms of possibility.
This is true. I’m must admit, though, the other thing that is very Spursy is lumping a tonne of money on a player who ultimately flops and conversely some of our more successful buys have been not first choice players for lowish fees.

We’ve got a manager who likes coaching players, likes a rebuild and will apparently look at the academy, he’s obviously totally different to Poch but there’s similarities there. Tosin may not be the best on paper but he has prem experience and is a couple years off his prime. If we got a couple of young hungry CBs that, most importantly, the manager was happy with then but that’s all that matters really. And the thing I like about Ange is that he doesn’t seem fussy like say Poch was.

The most important signing we had to make this summer was the manager and while he wasn’t in my top 5 choices or even top 8, he seems like he’s the right man for the job from the stuff he’s said and 2 BS pre season games. Hopefully he gets a few windows after this one, and the time that comes with it, to smash it.

Probably will be Tosin and Ashley Phillips at this rate. I can't see Levy sanctioning any big money purchases unless we have an agreement to sell Kane.

Seems we were trying to shift Sanchez and Hojbjerg to fund one / both Tapsba and VDV depending on what deal we could haggle.

Meanwhile the Kane sale has evolved and probably then anticipating a greater budget.

So then we didn't want to spend on lesser CBs and end up with money to spend but no positions left to spend it on.

Not defending the strategy but that's my read.

Still think we should have gone big on the 1st LCB, and put ourselves in a stronger position strategically.

Now Bayern, Leverkusen, and Wolfsburg, all have us over a barrel.

I said the same on Saturday based on 20 odd transfer windows of experience, but some posters like @SandroClegane didnt want to hear it.....along with those that agreed with him of course.

Thanks for tagging me now that the window is closed and we didn't get a CB.

Oh what's that? It's only July 27th? Sorry if I'm being an adult and waiting to see what happens rather than throwing my toys out the pram.

I didn’t say we wouldn’t get a centre back.

And it's taken them this long to try and sign a replacement? Who's in charge of transfers over there? Levy?
